Like when a child is likely to be perfectly healthy its cool to abort the fetus for any reason but when a child is likely to suffer or live in hardship all of sudden its important to preserve that life else you're a nazi. Lmao

Genuinely, does anyone know why they do this? Even back when I was religious and pro-life, I was most sympathetic to women in these situations out of all the reasons to abort. At fifteen I could understand that disabled babies would have a much rougher go of it so it was reasonable to abort the fetus, so why can't these grown-ass adults?
Like most left-wing discourses, anti-ableism started with the reasonable and necessary attempt to counter-act the discrimination and mistreatment of people with disabilities.
And it kind of snowballed into "actually, being disabled is awesome and you're a nazi fascist if you want your baby to be healthy". And so they started branding women who don't want to/can't dedicate their lives to caring for severely disabled children as Hitler.
So it's cool to yeet a perfectly healthy fetus for any reason but if you abort primarly because the fetus will be a severely disabled child- youre scum. So they want women to have disabled and diseased babies to virtue signal ideological purity.
This ride from sane and useful anti discrimination ideas- to absolutely deranged, useless, perversion of basic common sense- can be seen everywhere in leftists movements, unfortunately.

There's such a strong desire in both the left and the right to smooth over all these parts of life that are ugly and unfair, and disability is oftentimes one of those things. The right blames you or your parents, or calls you a faker, or tells you to pull on your bootstraps. The left tries to convince you the only problem is the system and if you love yourself more you can basically fix yourself.
This is honestly a big part of why I'm pro-abortion. Of course women's autonomy is the main reason, but I also support abortion because life really fucking sucks sometimes, so women shouldn't have to have a kid unless they're absolutely certain they want one.

This. I think telling people their disability would be cured 100% by systems or self acceptance is just as invalidating as saying they're faking or not trying hard enough.
Like no, sometimes disability is just hard and inconvenient and uncomfortable and it's no ones fault and there's no magical reorganization of systems that would make it "awesome" or easy. Just help people where they ask for help
It's because deep down they think REAL disability is a bad/shameful thing so they cover it with a coat of glittery paint to try to make os a "quirky" hardship you can overcome.
I'm disabled. One disability is that I'm blind. Being blind sucks. Pointing out that I'm blind is not a "bad thing". BEING blind is not shameful. Yes it sucks to live it, but to deny the reality of disability intrinsicaly points to a level of shame.
The left has not normalized disability. They've normalized toxic positivity and denial of reality.
