Before I was junior in high school, I was a little insecure about my love of heartbeats. That all changed when I accidentally ear-stethed my female friend’s heart.

On the day I became a cardiophile, before I knew what cardiophilia was, I was sitting at my desk the beginning of class. My friend walks in, puts her book bag down and reaches in for a hug. She hugs my head to her chest and I could hear her heart pounding. Immediately, I felt a rush through my body and my heart starts racing. Through the the rest of the class, all I could think about was hearing heartbeat. I’ve finally felt comfortable about loving heartbeats.
