For those worried about the crew having to do a whole job just for one person, flight staff only get paid for time they're in the air; if he'd cancelled, they wouldn't have gotten paid for zip.
So in other words, he gave them an easy day where they can spend most of it on break, and also airplane staff should unionize.
Also the plane likely has to get to NC somehow so you might as well have fun with it

Behold
The greatest nature documentary ever created
Her birth name was Elizabeth Cochran, but sheās best known nowadays by her pen name: Nellie Bly.
Nellie Bly was a muckraker and a fucking badass and her name deserves respect.
here's a free copy of ten days in a mad-house on project gutenberg.
(this work primarily deals with some absolutely horrific medical ableism so be prepared for that)
I know, I know, gatekeeping the outdoors, that's supposedly bad, right, but I think if you show up to do a hike and you brought a portable speaker with you to play music while you hike, I think, like hear me out, there should be a gate, and someone at the gate should keep you from doing the hike.
playing music in public should get strong social disapproval
Recorded music, anyway. Live music is different rules. If you want to lug an entire cello up a mountain you can do whatever the hell you want.
Carrying a speaker on a hike to make everyone listen to your bullshit, and simply sitting under a tree and playing a fiddle in the woods, are two activities so different they may as well not exist in the same world.
I think the critical difference is that the bringing of recorded music with you ties the space to Elsewhere, whereas the creation of live music with an instrument you brought both binds you to the space, and drags everyone who hears you play into it as well.
I think you're right.
Also it's never someone who wants to blast Bach or Vivaldi who brings a speaker is it

YKMET Progress
I've been rather quiet about my work lately haven't I? Well, I'm happy to report that I've just finished the coded script for Strade's remix [ YKMET ]. This means that the game is basically functional- but of course there's still a lot of work to be done! I'm about to begin with the sketch placeholders for the art, and the art always takes the longest for my games.
The script came out a bit longer than I anticipated. I knew it was going to be somewhat larger, but the script is more than twice as long as Strade's original path already, and I haven't even put in any of the image coding. I still have some framework coding to be done as well, things that will be easier once I have some artwork in place [ like the CG gallery for example ].
I can't provide a release date this early in the process yet, but I hope to get the next phases done in around a year- but it really depends on how much art I'll ultimately need and how long it'll take to draw it all.
But in general, I feel like production is going very well :)
I know I've been extremely silent, but I am not dead, and in fact I have a few updates:
I have a couple stories that are either finished and just in need of editing, basically finished, or halfway through, so I will finally be publishing some new stuff again! I'm happy to see I'm still getting sales despite not having new things published in a while, but I also feel a bit guilty. IRL shit has just been kind of complicated.
There is however something I have scrapped and will NOT be published. That is the continuation of the "Chikan" series that I had started with "Karin's Tale". Obviously I had no idea of it when I first started writing it, but since then there has been a discovery of a huge Korean sex trafficking ring case based on Telegram chatrooms, which bears too many similarities with what I had written/plotted for me to be comfortable continuing that series.
I have plans to write something on AO3 again too, but absolutely no guess on when I'll get to that. I have ideas, but nothing written down yet.

the best duo. Part 2 Part 3
Etiquette warnings shown before silent films (1910s)
Hats were like the cell-phones of the 1910s.
THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Free DLC for TPOF :)
To get this free DLC, simply update your game on Steam or Itchio! To access the new short linear story, you'll need to do the following:
Unlock the secret CONTROL achievement. You'll know you've done this when a secret character appears directly on your collections screen.
Start a new game, and right before the auction concludes- Point at the Announcer.
Special notes!
READ! THE! WARNINGS! This DLC is extremely nasty.
This DLC also responds to the sexual content toggle
This DLC also responds to the 'memelord mode' toggle
OTHER NOTES ABOUT THIS UPDATE:
Small bug fixes, a few images have updated slightly to better suit the story
The sexual content toggle has been expanded: you can now choose to play with explicit text, but not explicit artwork.
STEAM ANNOUNCEMENT ITCHIO LINK
I tried to play this but I canāt get the option to point at the announcer. I do have the CONTROL achievement (I checked on steam too), I downloaded and installed the DLC. If I click on the announcer, it just proceeds. It doesnāt appear as an extra option in the choices. I canāt useĀ āactionsā as itās greyed out.
The only thing I can think of is that I had wiped my saves etc to get another achievement and havenāt gotten through collecting every ending etc again. Iām gonna try and go through the route get the CONTROL achievement again to make sure I have itĀ āactivatedā, and test to see if that is the issue, then report back if that was the case
Ok so to unlock the DLC it seems you actually have to go through the steps to get the CONTROL achievements, and THEN you get the notification that the DLC was unlocked, rather than having unlocked it in the past (you also will find a relevant item while doing this, so Iām pretty sure you are supposed to go through the route AFTER the DLC is installed).
I now have the option to point at the announcer unlocked :)

the actual dialogue:
i see no difference
Fuller has occasionally been criticized for his statements that Will Graham is a āheterosexual character,ā but to me, it seems rather obvious that Graham would identify himself this way, regardless of his feelings for Lecter. And indeed, to me, I find emotional resonance in this queer experience. Graham is acutely aware of the feelings and needs of others, but seems to have very little room for or knowledge of his own. He ascertains from others the role expected of him and does his best (with mixed results) to play it. Ā It is only when he connects with Lecter that he begins to become aware of the monstrous truth within him ā one that he deeply fears embracing. Here, it is both his queerness and true monstrousness that Graham fears ā an intensifying piggyback on the queer allegory of gothic romance ā Ā but by intertwining the two, this emotional queer horror becomes more resonant.
