A big underrated aspect of why Armand fell so hard for Daniel I think is that for Armand it was the first time he got to experince love childishly. He’d done sex and romance and marriage and hundreds of years of commitment before but with Daniel he got wrestling on the couch and holding hands at the movies and driving with all the windows down and making out drunk and teasing pet names and leaving marks on each others necks and fighting and fucking and playing in the pool and laughing and crying over the stupidest things and I think for a guy practically made of stone who was made a child bride before he’d had his first crush that was a big thing for him. It’s also why Armand refused to steal the humanity from the one person who’d made him feel like a person in 500 years.
This. A lot of the Devil's Minion chapter in QOTD is about having fun. Crazy, unhinged, often not very healthy fun, still fun. That crazy, early stage love where everything is saturated colour and Dolby surround sound multiplied a hundred fold.
