Did you really feel depressed after you shot Mr. Garrett Jacob Hobbes to  death? l think you probably did. But it wasn't the act that got to you.  Didn't you feel so bad, because killing him felt so good? And why  shouldn't it feel good? lt must feel good to God. He does it all the  time. God's terrific! He dropped a church roof on 34 of his worshippers  in Texas last Wednesday night, just as they were groveling through a  hymn to his majesty. Don't you think that felt good?  

Don't get me wrong - i love the murder husbands dynamic as much as anyone. But Hannibal is so much more than that.

He is peerless at his job and phenomenal in a staggering number of hobbies. Plus he is knowledgeable in a variety of subjects.

In both Hannibal the book and the movie, he composes a lecture on medieval art history that lands him a prestigious academic position. The impressive bit is that he composes the lecture in his head, 5 mins before he is to give it.

He does theoretical physics in his free time, trying to reverse the time, so he can revive Mischa

His lack of morals is purely what makes him dangerous, cuz it allows him to use his intelligence to do psychopathic things. He regularly uses "practical" methods that no normal person would even consider, which makes him look even smarter -but the intelligence was always there. The lack of ethics just gives him permission to use it.
