I think people always forget that Will was completely aware of everything that Hannibal had done. He knew how he thought, his motivations, and his crimes as if they were his own. And yet, he consistently shows that he wants to choose Hannibal over all others. Even after others find out his crimes, Will is so smitten that he just tells Jack that he wanted to go with the cannibal that tried to kill them both. The icing on the cake though, is that until Will found out Hannibal’s true nature, he was not nearly as interested. Will is so much darker than he lets on, and it’s a layer of his character I wish people talked about more often.
