I know I'm not, like, normal about Think Pink, but any time someone starts a sentence with "Except..." and trails off for a second, all I hear in my head is:
Except... pets are loved, of course. And Tim didn't just say, 'somebody else's weapon,' now did he.
None of us are normal about "think pink", friend. That fic does not exist for ANYONE to be normal about. If people are normal about it, I wrote it wrong, hahaha!
Funny story, though: Kon having that "pet vs. weapon" thought process is actually one of the parts of the story that I always felt I'd written really awkwardly and honestly might be the part I feel like I wrote MOST awkwardly, it still tends to jar me when I reread it. So it's nice to hear it worked enough for you that it made a lasting impression, haha! 😆
( god, I need to write SO much more of this damn chapter either way, though. like so, SO much more. )
I have to admit, I rarely read it, bc learning about podfics changed my life in 2025. Maybe it's an @opalsong magic effect?
But I did go back and reread that passage (for science), and it hits me just as hard in writing.
Written or audio, there's something about a person treating you the same way as the people who hurt you did, but meaning it in a whole different way, and that making all the difference between what hurts and what heals. Being reprogrammed as a pet to heal from never feeling like a person 🤤🥵
commission for @suzukiblu featuring ch. 6 of Think Pink! thanks again for the comm!!
commissions are open! and the link should work this time!

the thing about being "good with kids" is all it takes is literally just not trying to control and mould them with every interaction. it's just being a normal person and engaging with them through normal interactions like having conversations and playing games. it's just being genuine and friendly and not perceiving them as lumps of wet clay you are there to shape. "oh you're so good with kids" thanks it's because I think they are people

dandelions deserve more respect than they get
you say “weeds” I say “widespread non-native edible plant and early-blooming pollinator resource that is not considered invasive because it behaves politely and does not cause deleterious ecological consequences”
The dandelions aren’t gonna fuck you bro
they have and they will
It’s crazy how homophobes/transphobes are always like “I don’t think gay and trans people should exist in public. How do I explain them to my child?” and gay and trans people are like “Oh okay, I can do it for you. Sometimes boys like other boys and girls like other girls. Sometimes people are told they’re a girl as a child but realize they’re actually a boy or something in between a boy and a girl or no gender at all and vise versa.” and then they ban the books explaining these extremely simple concepts in child friendly terms.

A surprising number of Hollow Knight's NPCs were created by Kickstarter backers, and the reason the game's worldbuilding is Like That is, to a large extent, the product of Team Cherry going the extra mile to craft a world where everybody's weird edgy bug OC fits in and makes sense – which is why it's very amusing that they 100% did not have to deal with this concern at all for Silksong, and the NPCs are still Like That.

I heard reference to something about how all anime are required to have good looking cabbage because of That One Time. So simply looking up "anime cabbage" I found the source.
Some harem anime way back in the day had an episode where the characters cooked, and they animated cabbage so terribly like this it left a bad mark on the anime community forever. Apparently this is part of the reason why all food usually looks good in anime, even moreso than the regular show sometimes. With cabbage being especially well drawn.
A complaint, apparently in a paper.
The first show when released internationally was reanimated in this part.
And high quality or low quality cabbage is sometimes referenced.
I learned of this because the most recent Hologra episode has noel eating cabbage, tearing apart a fine quality cabbage into two low poly halves.
i love learning about other cultures' memes, especially like this
MY CABBAGES
I was tagged in this and was wondering how we would make it to boobs
