He moved next to Bruce in the suburbs when his father woke up (wheelchairs aren’t the easiest to live there). Alfred’s the one who gave him the newspaper with the information on it to give to his dad. That was between Robin II and Robin III if I remember correctly (around this time period at least).

Then, if I remember correctly, Jack lost his money and they moved back to a townhouse in Gotham (they weren’t Bruce Wayne kind of Rich but they were still rich). Now after No Man’s Land, Tim had been sent to boarding school. Because Jack lost his money, they had to take Tim back so he discovered the new apartment around the same time. (I don’t remember the exact order of events but at the very least they moved around - most likely after–the No Man’s Land event). ->this scene should be happening there

Then Jack died, Tim went to live in Budheaven but it didn’t last long.

He basically went back to Wayne Manor but the 1 year later thing happened and he moved in with Bruce and finally was adopted by him.

Then Bruce died, Tim ran away from home, then when he got back to Gotham he turned the cinema theater next to where Bruce’s parents died into his own apartment. (which he obviously shares with Kon and Cass Cain)

Before becoming Robin, Tim and his family did not live near Bruce. After becoming Robin, Tim lived with Bruce while his parents were out of the country, and then kept living there when his mom died and his dad fell into a coma. After his dad woke up, Tim talked him into buying a house that was next door to Bruce (I think Alfred helped). There was an underground tunnel Tim could use to go straight from his house to the Batcave and back, very convenient.

When No Man’s Land happened, they stayed in the suburbs for a while, and Bruce forebad both Robin and Nightwing from joining him in trying to help inside Gotham. This was when Steph’s pregnancy happened, as well as my favorite issue of Nightwing, where Robin and Nightwing surf on a train blindfolded and talk about their problems. Jack briefly moved their family to Star City, and Tim hung out with the Flash. Then Steph had her baby, and Tim asked the Flash to run him back to Gotham to be with her during the birth.

Then Jack moved the family back to Gotham accepting Tim’s excuse that he just really missed Gotham and that was why he “ran away.” Then Bruce finally admitted that he needed help, and Robin and Nightwing went into Gotham. Tim was only supposed to be there for a little while, but he got kidnapped and then really sick, so there was no way he could get back without Jack noticing he was gone, so he made an excuse about going through a tunnel and getting stuck in No Man’s Land. Then Jack raised a big stink in congress, and Tim became known as “the kid stuck in No Man’s Land” even though there were plenty of other kids who had been stuck there since the beginning, but they weren’t rich so no one cared.

At that point Jack was fed up with Tim sneaking around and “running away” and sent him to boarding school as punishment. Then, partway through the school year, Jack lost his money, and apparently he hadn’t paid Tim’s tuition ahead of time, because he had to leave, and that was when they moved to the townhouse in Gotham. It was during that period that the panel above happened with Cass visiting Tim on the roof. That was when Steph died in the gang war.

And then Jack was murdered and his second wife had a mental breakdown, and Tim eventually was adopted and moved back into Wayne Manor, but not after quite a bit of turmoil. Somewhere in there things got really bad in Gotham and Bruce sent Cass and Tim to live in Bludhaven with Dick. And then Bruce “died” and Tim went on his worldwide tour and afterward got his own place in Gotham, which was actually the theater Bruce went to the night his parents were killed. And that was where pre-N52 ended.

I don’t have issue numbers on hand for the early stuff, but specific references:

Tim as a kid lives at boarding schools, and with his parents in between. I think Robin #100 implies the family had multiple homes, one in the city, and one not.

Tim becomes Robin, his mom dies and his dad goes into a coma, and he temporarily lives with Bruce, and gets to go to non-boarding school.

Jack wakes up, he and Tim move to the house next to Wayne Manor. Jack later marries Dana.

Not wanting to be near NML, Jack moves the family to Keystone (Robin #62).

Tim convinces him to return and they move back next to Wayne Manor (Robin #66; this move did not last long).

Tim heads into NML briefly.

Post-NML, as this is the third time Tim has seemingly run away, Jack sends him to live at local boarding school Brentwood (Robin #74).

Jack loses money, has to pull Tim from Brentwood, and Tim, Jack, and Dana move to a townhouse in the city (Robin #100). Tim describes this as moving from upper-upper class to upper-middle class, and it’s only really a big deal to Jack.

This would be where that panel above occurs.

Jack dies, Tim rejects Bruce’s adoption offer, and moves to Bludhaven (Robin #132). Legally, he’s living with his (fake) uncle, but in reality he’s living alone.

Post-Infinite Crisis, Bruce & Tim & Dick go travel the world for a year.

On return home in One Year Later, Tim briefly lives in a separate building on the Manor property (the converted stables iirc??) (Robin #148-151), before accepting Bruce’s second adoption offer (Batman #654) and moving into the manor

Also, I just reread the original question–as far as I know, there’s no Gotham map with street names, just the map from NML with districts and a few notable places marked:

But yeah, Tim living in a stable environment is almost less likely than the possibility of him actually wanting to become Batman.

Bruce forgetting one of his kids’ birthdays? No way. No fucking way. I call bullshit.

Like sometimes he had gem moments of characterization but most of it is still… Why?

Like one of the many problems in that storyline aside from the fact that Bruce would never use Tim’s birthday like this even in his worse moments (and between his PTSD and depression he gets… Really bad sometimes in a non OOC way for the Bruce of that time), so one of my main issues is that he berates Tim from believing he could have received a message from the future.

Like even if we forget Bruce’s own experience with time travel, by then Tim had known Bart and by extension Max Mercury for about a year and Bart’s one of his best friend, he had worked with Robin!Dick Grayson, he had worked the Legion of Super-Heroes (including Bart’s cousin) and some other stuff.

Booster Gold freaking exists and Tim’s a fan of Blue Beetle so aside from him knowing about most vigilantes from his job, he has probably comes across booster from his readings on Ted.

Someone got on my case because I called out Devin Grayson for making Bruce casually racist when male writers have made him do worse, so I’m gonna say fuck you for this, Jon Lewis. This is what villains do. It’s not what Batman does. He can be manipulative, definitely, but not to the extent of creating a fucking fake hologram from the future to convince a teenager with anxiety that one of his friends was going to turn evil and destroy Gotham. Please don’t reply/reblog and say “actually this is in character for Bruce because XYZ" – you’re entitled to your opinion, of course, but keep it off my post.

I used the David Lafuente cover because I actually quite like it.

Things happen this issue, they do. It isn’t an empty issue technically, but it still feels so empty and lifeless.

Extra help comes in, Conner nearly gets killed, they fight S.T.A.R. Labs monsters trying to get to him, they go into the Warlord world, they get him out, they go to Dr. Glory, and Dr. Glory say she knows why “don’t all remember each other” which maybe I’m misunderstanding the use of the words, but I’m pretty sure it was just Tim and maybe Superman so far in that Action Comics crossover that forgot. I suppose Jinny didn’t know, but it’s not like Teen Titans, Young Justice was way more low-key then them. It isn’t unreasonable she wouldn’t know them..

There’s only so many times you can say something before it gets old.

The negatives in this series are still here.

It feels rushed, Tim still can’t be drawn the right height as well as that costume, flat occasional straight-up unnatural sounding dialogue, overly fastpaced, lack of genuine personality, and a lack of heart.

This is the stuff that’s been plaguing the series since issue 5, some would argue even before then, and it’s just not getting better.

Here’s a scenario and a question: Imagine a fan that’s never read Young Justice before. He isn’t aware why it’s painful that Tim looks like that even. Why would he keep wanting to read the series?

I suppose it’s a bit zippy. It feels energetic. (Which also gives it no time to breath to make any moment actually feel like anything cuz it moves too much. Partially because there is too many characters.)

But is that gonna keep making them come back issue after issue? Doesn’t this just feel like the easiest series to let go? Without loyalty and cliffhangers, this series would just die, and it’s not treating loyal fans very well, because it’s taking away what they liked.

Cissie King Jones, is a fan favorite to those that read the original Young Justice. Her appearance to those that like the series from before, were frightful but excited, frightful because this series hasn’t had the best quality, but excited because it’s her.

She does nothing here.

Beyond generic lines, she just quips about her retirement.

Which is fair. It lets new readers know that she’s retired, but that’s it. To old fans it’s a let down, they know that about her, and this is all her first appearance is given.

For an original run Young Justice character, shouldn’t there be more? It’s not that she’s here, it’s just a waste of a return. It should’ve meant more, been a bigger deal, show the series and characters a bit more respect.

Her first page though, to me, is the best of the issue, because look at it.

It feels alive. There’s real people. Is that a mall? A school? Something real people go to? Something that connects us to these characters in a more personal way to let us care about them?

We haven’t even seen Bart without his mask ONCE. There’s nothing to connect us to him besides him being humorously hyper, but he doesn’t feel like a real person.

And well, while looking at his origin you think “oh I can’t relate to that”, but his life made him relatable. He was a teenager with an attention problem, it was exaggerated, but they played it with a balance. Here he’s just an attention problem. His only personality trait is ADHD.

Tim Drake? The character I know a lot about? The character who’s insecurities, boy scout mentality, dweebie sensibilities, but still serious attitude that hid his immature child-like spirit, relatable everykid personal life, as well as his sensitive heart that he had to often ignore to keep moving, all that made him lovable and interesting? Who is he here? Just the leader. He showed his personality in issue one, but since then? Nothing. He made an Indiana Jones reference in issue 7, and acted a bit awkward in issue 10. What a personality.

Getting back to this issue though. It’s just lazy– again.

(Also for anyone curious. Here’s Tim and Steph’s one interaction. Out of place blushing (like the line just feels out of place. What’s he blushing at? Steph was just vague, not romantic), and Steph bullying Tim for his outfit again. In one way I’m glad they acknowledge it’s ugly, but this is like, the third time Steph has just mocked Tim’s outfits, and it’s beginning to just feel genuinely mean spirited)

Another arc, another lazy fight, with random quips, that you don’t care about, because these characters, for FOURTEEN ISSUES STRAIGHT, have at least in someway, worried about getting to their own dimension.

That is over a year.

Stop it, please.

Also just like the last big fight issue they just use double pages to make up for lack of space.

What left is there even to say anymore?

This is the series?

This is the current Young Justice?

Dull, superficially energetic, poorly paced, characterless– I’m not even sure what.

I don’t even have it in me to call to call it garbage because I’m still attached the characters because of what they were, but it sucks because they are no longer that. They are shells, and they repainted Timmy’s shell, and Tim was my favorite character.

It’s a 2/10 issue.

Only even that much just because the colors were visually satisfying during the fight (besides the obviously unsatisfying “Drake” suit).

The biggest plus side I can think of is that Tim is still being referred to as Robin. I like that. Just wish he didn’t have to change his costume when the Gleason one was so great.

Also why does John Timms draw Tim so tall? It really irks me as a pet peeve sort-of thing. Tim’s supposed to be shorter than Bart.

And it’s still pretty annoying Tim and Steph are together when he has his memories back and he should remember that they weren’t on great terms and all their turmoil. It still really sticks out like a sore thumb to those that know what Tim should remember now.
