I don't think Dick and Tim have had a good 1:1 talk since Tim came out. But we did get that great hug between them where Dick was crying and everything. But still. That was like 4 years ago. When are they going to fall asleep on the dock together and eat fajitas again. When are they going to sit on some rooftop and have a chat. When are they going to steal one of Bruce's toys again.

There is I think a certain unfortunate tendency in Batfandom to view darker takes as inherently more real and true even when they're equally as baseless in comics canon (or sometimes any canon) as any of the fluffier takes.

Is there anything specific you had in mind?

Mostly I was thinking of the Batfandom attachment to the idea of Dick as an "eldest daughter" who had to take care of the younger Bats while he himself was a child, when this has simply never been the case for him at all in the slightest even as an adult with the very very small exception of Damian, and even then he was an adult and very much had the option to just not. Another big example would be the "everyone hates Tim" subsection of fanon. But even outside of those very notable examples I think there's a tendency to take darker interpretations more at face value even when all canon evidence is to the contrary, as if it's inherently more realistic and believable simply because it's dark.

I love this newscaster. He not only does his job well, but things like this come up and it just makes him even cooler. And I also would have been distracted by the nice rooster and his girl.
