Having just read through Kon's 90's Superboy run, this scene hits a bit harder than it did as a stand alone.

Tim doesn't show up at Titans Tower as scheduled- because he quit being Robin, due to his father.

Kon flies all the way to Gotham, despite how many times he's been told not to, to find him and figure out why. Instead of Tim, he runs into Steph Robin, and freaks out. He's not particularly nice about it either.

Bruce refuses to disclose Tim's home address- but does tell him to be a Super, and use his hearing and detective skills to find Tim on his own. Then we get this.

Kon is so, so terrified of losing Tim, because he's quit being Robin. Because over and over again that's how it went. People moved on. Left him behind. Despite everything, he has no reason to believe that Tim will still be in his life after this, because everyone else that's left just left.

Kon just breaks my heart man 😭

Yes, this is inspired by the upcoming TT run. Yes, Fairplay’s design is basically untouched, but it’s not for the lack of trying. It’s peak, what can I say? I literally couldn’t add paint to that masterpiece no matter how hard I tried. Anyway…

Now, I’m still on the fence about the twins, because although their ages are right for this story, I don’t know if their personalities fit well on the team. Plus, I was hoping for more interesting powers in the lineup, instead of just two of the same powers, you know?
