The anti-vax and anti-science propaganda is very real - and also, frankly I think doctors and nurses would've had an easier time getting people not to fall for it if they spent less time treating people like fucking shit

Whenever I text someone happy birthday I always have to double check and then I panic and worry that I’ve somehow gotten their birthday wrong this year and I read the date wrong on the messages from last year and my calendar is wrong. #Normal

What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.

Blackout poetry exists on a dual axis from "banal" to "insightful" on the input side and "kind of deep" to "incredibly fucking dumb" on the output side, and while taking something banal and producing something kind of deep is well and fine, for my money taking something insightful and rendering it incredibly fucking dumb is where the real art is.

Since I've been in a bit of a marvel kick the last few days I ended up rewatching some movies from the first few phases and I gotta say i still don't know what Wanda did specifically in civil war to get so much hate after that movie came out

My "too woke" take is: A woman could not have written Game of Thrones. I don't mean she wouldn't have been capable. I mean a woman writing about that much rape and incest wouldn't have been this globally revered as "realistic" and "dark" and would've instead been called a sexual deviant and her books fringe at best
