Arenât judges supposed to be impartial? What the fuck are they doing hugging the accused? Isnât that technically a conflict of interest?
Since Karen cried, people really bought into her â remorsefulnessâ. Seems like the only people who had common sense was the jury since it was unanimous guilty vote.
I think the wildest thing to me is people saying that it was âan accident, could have happened to anyoneâ. Like, what??
Not only have I never entered the wrong apartment, even if I did I would not assume a person eating ice cream was a threat and even if I did I wouldnât be carrying a weapon to kill someone on me and even if I was I wouldnât use it because Iâd be busy running screaming into the night.
The amount of things that had to be in play for this to happen. To be one of those pumped up, high on paranoia police officers who shoot first and ask questions later.
Like, how the fuck is thisâŠunderstandable??
The thing that bothers me is the persistent choice to acquiesce to Guygerâs âI thought it was My Apartmentâ narrative in coverage of the trial at ALL. Like, their apartments were on *different floors*, with *different outdoor furnishings*. And sheâd complained about him before. And joked in group chats with other officers about killing people and pretending it was an accident. Instead of calling emergency services about the man bleeding to death, she called a booty call that had been expecting her. What is more likely: That all of these things are pure coincidence and earnest mistakes in a Rube Goldberg machine that led to the sad but Accidental Death of this man? Or that this woman let her temper fly, walked up to his apartment, shot him in the fucking chest, and then called an acquaintance to establish the lie that sheâd done this as a âmistakeâ And then lied her ass off, badly, about it to lessen the consequences of her action, like a toddler with chocolate all over her face insisting that they have no idea where the cookies went. Weâve had the trial now. We convicted her of Murder. We can stop saying âAllegedlyâ. We can stop hedging our bets, and acting like her lie has a reasonable chance of being the Truth. The WHOLE FUCKING POINT of a trial and a conviction is to be able to say that with all the evidence seen, with all the testimony heard, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we Do Not Believe the person who said it was an Accident. That we believe a Murder Happened and that now weâre going to punish the guilty party, hopefully so that they and others donât think they can get AWAY with this shit.
the inevitable conclusion
So 2016 is SO bad that it made the creator of this meme give us an alternative version of âThis is Fineâ.Â

Thereâs more.
Iâm crying.
Holy shit.
i have to reblog this.it made me cry which never happens with books and comics
Iâve seen a lot of people saying, âwhy does it matter if heâs white?â It MATTERS that he is white. It MATTERS that he is a white supremacist. It MATTERS that he is a Donald Trump supporter. It MATTERS because he drove miles from his home in Dallas to go to a border city whoâs population is predominantly Hispanic, in an area where many Mexicans from the South of the border also come to shop, during a tax exempt weekend when more people than usual went shopping . His crime was premeditated and was based on his racist, xenophobic views and it was done under a president who makes people like him think that, that is completely normal and fine. So yes, it fucking matters that he is white.

things to wear when iâm investigating an abandoned castle thatâs heavily rumoured to be infested with vampires
ADOPTION FUN FACT
If youâre adopted internationally into the United States, BY adoption LAWS youâre legally a citizen, but you still have to apply for documentation and if itâs not done by the age of 18 you have to pay over $500 and get a judge to reopen your adoption case.Â
Even More Fun Fact: No one actually tells adoptive families, this so many find out after theyâre 18 when their kid needs to get a passport, wants to apply for financial aid, get certain jobs, vote or some other shit that requires proof of citizenship and now itâs too late because theyâre 18 or over.Â
AND EVEN MORE FUN FACT! You can sometimes even be deported because you can be considered foreign-born, non-citizens!Â
Oh and they wonât accept adoption papers or a birth certificate as proof.Â
Adoption is FUN.Â
Do it now! Seriously. Even if you think you are safe. Do it.
Many people are finding that even a birth certificate is not valid proof anymore. Texas birth certificates are notorious. So notorious that I have 3 friends who canât use them to get passports! Donât think everything is hunky dory. You must nail down your citizenship.
http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/filling-out-form-n-600-application-certificate-citizenship.html
Plus the cost for your citizenship certificate is almost doubling this fall.
SIGNAL BOOST.
Some Naturalization/Citizenship Certificate tips from me, the person who front-end processes these forms for half the country: the passport people are absolute garbage at sending your Naturalization Certificate back to you. Unfortunately, they also require it for you to get a passport. If you donât get it back, whine at them about it and they will probably cover the cost of the replacement. Â
Also! It takes up to 12 months to get a replacement certificate. If you urgently need your Natz Cert to visit your dying relative in another country, the word you want to use is âExpediteâ. Not âASAPâ. Not ârushâ. Expedite. Write a letter explaining why you need it expedited, if you do. Otherwise the USCIS data-entry grunts (me!) arenât allowed to throw it into the expedite line and it gets relegated to the Backlog Crypts.Â
Also! You need to get a new Naturalization Certificate if your name and/or gender legally changes, because a lot of places want your proof of citizenship for things like Social Security and student loans and Medicaid/EBT/welfare benefits and driversâ licenses.Â
ALSO ALSO both the N600Â ($600) that you use to apply for your Naturalization Certificate in the first place and N565Â ($345) that you use to apply for a replacement certificate are eligible for FEE WAIVERS. Itâs called an I912. Learn it, love it, use it.Â
Please for your sake make sure you are using the current version of the form. The most common reason I have to reject an N565 is because someone sent me something that expired in 2013. The current one is seven pages long. Please send the government all seven of them.Â
Dont mind me, just running ass home and then to the government so I cant get deported.

THE TRAINS HAVE CARTOON TAMAS ON THEM
Sad update everyone, Tama recently passed away⊠An estimated 3,000 people, including railway officials, attended Tama the catâs funeral on Sunday, days after she died of heart failure aged 16. [x]
For those who havenât read articles about it, the local shrine elevated her to a god. Sheâs now the Eternal Stationmaster and patron god of the station.
Beautiful.
Now Iâm crying thanks
and a new cat was hired right?
yep! her name is Nitama (essentially âsecond tamaâ or âtama IIâ) and she served under Tama as an apprentice before being appointed her deputy
she works very hard
Everytime this crosses my dash, I reblog. It is the law.
Iâm crying at 11pm over train cats
Nitama, already now a mature cat (born 2010), has a protege named Yontama (fourth Tama, b. 2016). There is no information available for either the physical befellment or tragic self-disgrace which has removed Santama from contention.
^Nitama majestic, and below with Yontama
Yontama.
a legacy
okay but actually what happened to santama (or sun-tama-tama, which is her name because itâs a pun on santama) was that she was basically sent to train for the position in okayama and they liked her so much they refused to send her back
âSun-tama-tamaâ (a pun off of âSantamaâ, lit. âthird Tamaâ) was a calico cat sent for training in Okayama. Sun-tama-tama was considered as a candidate for Tamaâs successor, but the Okayama Public Relations representative who had been caring for Sun-tama-tama refused to give the cat up writing, âI will not let go of this child, she will stay in Okayama.â [25]
As of September 2018, Sun-tama-tama is working as the stationmaster in Naka-ku, Okayama and appears occasionally on Tamaâs Twitter account.
Every time I see this post thereâs new info and it gets better
You are only allowed to scroll pass this after you pay tribute to the great Tama Station masters.

This is actually true, and was really written by Suess. (Snopes https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/dr-seuss-adolf-wolf/)
hey so uhhh hereâs an important update on whatâs apparently happening at the border, especially with the use of the old japanese internment camps
all i can say is iâm sickened by this mess, by the atrocities committed against innocent people. and now there will be no surveillance. no one will be able to see what happens to these people. the UN, the media, and any other human rights organizations cannot get into these facilities, either, in order to stop whatâs happening. by the way, coast guard members were apparently aiding in this process as well. so now itâs only a matter of time before it becomes a military movement.
no one gets in. no one gets out.
so when are we going to call this what it is? itâs fascism. itâs genocide. and if we donât stop it now, itâs going to be disastrous.
contact your senators, your representatives, anyone thatâs in office that can get off their lazy ass and do something.
can yâall please reblog this iâm begging

CBP then transfers these human beings to a facility called âthe Dog Pound.â (Here, my friend started crying.) The âDog Poundâ is comprised of cages, outside and on dirt, with no protection from the elements. Donât look away.
There are dozens of teen moms there. There is no baby food. While there, my friend saw a CBP agent take a baby from her teenage mother, strip the baby of its clothes, hand the baby back to the mother, and send them outside to the âDog Poundâ to sleep in the dirt.
The âDog Poundâ has no running water, no covers, no tarp, no care, no safety from the elements. It is freezing at night, and deathly hot during the day. Everyone is sick. My friend said she saw a baby on this trip that was so sick âI thought it would be dead by morning.â
Toddlers in the âDog Poundâ who had been eating solid food are given only infant formula. Moms are trying to start breast feeding again so their children donât starve. These moms are dehydrated, sick, & have walked miles through desert with no water. CBP gives them nothing.
It gets worse. Donât look away. From the âDog Pound,â these human beings are moved to an area called âThe Freezer.â The Freezer is kept at 55 degrees. Some of the refugees who are moved there are still wet from their journey, and are put in The Freezer wet.
CBP is keeping human beings in âThe Freezerâ for weeks at a time. WEEKS. Including critically ill people, disabled people, sick children, teenage mothers with babies. The floor of The Freezer is made of dirt or very rough concrete. There are no beds. Keep reading.
From âThe Freezer,â refugees are supposed to be moved to ICE facilities that are designed for residential care. They have beds, food, bathrooms. However, (keep reading) THOSE FACILITIES ARE EMPTY. ICE IS SHUTTING THEM DOWN. Donât look away.
What our government is doing instead is moving refugees to MILITARY INSTALLATIONS. The announcement about Fort Sill, which was used as a Japanese internment camp, is only the start. So why would our government be doing this?
Hereâs why:Â These concentration camps (letâs call them what they are) will be under the control of the Department of Homeland Security, but within the Department of Defense.
Unlike ICE facilities, which allow site inspectors inside, there will be no inspection of military-run camps. The military will be able to deny access to anyone it chooses. No media. No oversight.
Lawyers will not be allowed in. Human rights monitors will not be allowed in. The camps will also be protected airspace, meaning that no drones can fly over them to take pictures of whatâs going on inside.

What in Godâs name is this
Uhhh so I can tell y'all for sure he WASNâT eating that eggplantâŠ.
this keeps getting worse

According to the CDC, in 10 percent of those drownings, the adult will actually watch the child do it, having no idea it is happening. Drowning does not look like drowningâDr. Pia, in an article in the Coast Guardâs On Scene magazine, described the Instinctive Drowning Response like this:
âExcept in rare circumstances, drowning people are physiologically unable to call out for help. The respiratory system was designed for breathing. Speech is the secondary or overlaid function. Breathing must be fulfilled before speech occurs.
Drowning peopleâs mouths alternately sink below and reappear above the surface of the water. The mouths of drowning people are not above the surface of the water long enough for them to exhale, inhale, and call out for help. When the drowning peopleâs mouths are above the surface, they exhale and inhale quickly as their mouths start to sink below the surface of the water.
Drowning people cannot wave for help. Nature instinctively forces them to extend their arms laterally and press down on the waterâs surface. Pressing down on the surface of the water permits drowning people to leverage their bodies so they can lift their mouths out of the water to breathe.
Throughout the Instinctive Drowning Response, drowning people cannot voluntarily control their arm movements. Physiologically, drowning people who are struggling on the surface of the water cannot stop drowning and perform voluntary movements such as waving for help, moving toward a rescuer, or reaching out for a piece of rescue equipment.
From beginning to end of the Instinctive Drowning Response peopleâs bodies remain upright in the water, with no evidence of a supporting kick. Unless rescued by a trained lifeguard, these drowning people can only struggle on the surface of the water from 20 to 60 seconds before submersion occurs.â
This doesnât mean that a person that is yelling for help and thrashing isnât in real troubleâthey are experiencing aquatic distress. Not always present before the Instinctive Drowning Response, aquatic distress doesnât last longâbut unlike true drowning, these victims can still assist in their own rescue. They can grab lifelines, throw rings, etc.
Look for these other signs of drowning when persons are in the water:
Head low in the water, mouth at water level
Head tilted back with mouth open
Eyes glassy and empty, unable to focus
Eyes closed
Hair over forehead or eyes
Not using legsâvertical
Hyperventilating or gasping
Trying to swim in a particular direction but not making headway
Trying to roll over on the back
Appear to be climbing an invisible ladder
So if a crew member falls overboard and everything looks OKâdonât be too sure. Sometimes the most common indication that someone is drowning is that they donât look like theyâre drowning. They may just look like they are treading water and looking up at the deck. One way to be sure? Ask them, âAre you all right?â If they can answer at allâthey probably are. If they return a blank stare, you may have less than 30 seconds to get to them. And parentsâchildren playing in the water make noise. When they get quiet, you get to them and find out why.

BOOST FOR THE SUMMER. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Can I just say thank you to OP for putting such a detailed description on this?
Iâve been a lifeguard for 6 years now and of all the saves Iâve done, maybe two or three had people drowning in the stereotypical thrashing style. And even those, like the save I made last weekend, it was exactly like OP describes where the personâs head is going in and out of the water but it isnât long enough to get any air. Mostly you recognize drowning by the look on someoneâs face. If someone looks wide eyed and terrified or confused, chances are theyâre drowning. That look of âoh shitâ is pretty easily recognizable. And even if you canât tell for sure: GO AFTER THEM ANYWAY. Iâve done âsavesâ where a kid was pretending to drown and I mistook it for real drowning, but thatâs preferable to a kid ACTUALLY drowning.
Also please remember that even strong swimmers can drown if they have a medical emergency, get cramps, or get too tired. If your friend knows how to swim but theyâre acting funny get them to land. And even if someone can respond when you ask them if they need help, if they say they do need help? GO HELP THEM.
However . If the victim is a stranger, I canât recommend trying to get them. Lifeguards literally train to escape âattacks,â because people who are drowning can freak the fuck out and grab you and make YOU drown as well. If you do go in after someone, take hold of them from the back and talk to them the whole time. IF YOU ARE GRABBED: duck down into the water as low as you can get. The person is panicking and wonât want to go under water and should release you. Shove up at their hands and push them away from you as you duck under. Donât die trying to save someone else.
Please guys, read and memorize this post. Not all places have lifeguards. Being able to recognize drowning is such an important skill to have and you can save someoneâs life.
Just incase!

the saddest sight in the world is a married couple at a musical and the wife is super excited and happy and the husband looks like he was dragged along and heâs making a big deal about how much he doesnât want to be there and the wife gets embarrassed or ashamed. this isnât a funny post, itâs actually heartbreaking and i see it happen at like every other musical i attend.
Yeah, as an usher what makes me sad is when I see wives clearly dressed in their Sunday best, beaming and buying merch and smiling at me as I hand them a program, toting some guy dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt who declines a program. And thatâs at least a quarter of the couples who come in or more. Like come on man, she really loves this stuff, canât you try to enjoy it for her at least?
About as bad as when you see a big-eyed kid who looks like this is the greatest day of their life, all excited to see this show, and their parent/grandparent/aunt/Cousin/Friend/whoever they convinced to take them keeps making fun of them and saying how dumb or ridiculous theyâre being. For Gods sake, this is a person you care about and this is a thing that means a lot to them. Smile, get off your phone, and be happy for them.
This goes for ANY loved onesâ interests. Doesnât matter the interest, doesnât matter the loved one. Example: my hubby loves airplanes. He works in the aviation industry. He basically has avgas flowing in his veins. No matter where we go on trips, heâll find an aviation musuem. I donât mind aircraft museums, but he will literally stop and take photos of rivets. Seriously. One time I was with him at the National Air and Space Museum and I had my nice DSLR camera and he asked if I could take some photos of the seams of the SR71 with âyour good camera,â and you know what? It wasnât my favorite subject to photograph, but I gladly did it because it made him happy.
BTW, weâve been doing this for the 30+ years weâve been together. He comes with me to symphonies and art galleries and lets me have the remote during hockey season to the point where heâs now a fan. I know heâs daydreaming about airplane engines a majority of the time, but heâs there and trying and I love that about him.
So yeah, be present for your favorite people and make an effort. It will pay joyful lifelong dividends you canât begin to imagine.
