reasons I almost had no hotel room today, in order of occurrence:
I couldn't figure out the parking system, circled three times, drove every wrong direction, and apologized to the valets who watched me.
the room was under maintenance (reasonable)
the room wasn't booked under my name
the room was also not booked for today in the system even though it was correct in the confirmation email
since I don't have a physical copy of the business account card, they nearly had to charge a whopping $1300 to my account
All that to say, it's truly a miracle that I am in the hotel room right now.
...I'm gonna melt into a puddle now.
I’m glad you made it! I would probably have cried a little. Doing things for the first time alone is terrifying. But how are you supposed to anticipate things like that if you haven’t done it before?
I miss my friends :(
the thing about batman: no man's land i need everyone to understand is that it's the women of gotham who save it
it's babs and renee and helena and cassandra and leslie and ivy and selina and christina and sarah
over and over and over
Thinking about how much I love no man's land as a batman story again not only is the premise really funny considering the US government saw that Gotham was going through their bi annual catastrophe and said to themselves "We could waste more money trying to fix Gotham ... again orrrrr we can blow up their remaining bridges so we don't have to give a shit about that hell hole anymore" basically turning Gotham into villain island from the descendents movies but also the story introduce Cassandra Cain like what more could you want

i am banned from eating my herring inside. they make me eat it on the smoking area by the loading dock, under the theory that it already smells bad there. but it was raining today which was preventing my breakfast, so i was feeling sad and hungry and then i realized that there was a large cardboard box in the dumpster from a previous delivery. like a fridge sized box. so i fished it out of the dumpster, then tipped it on its side and had a nice little cardboard cave to watch the rain and eat my fish in. which was a great experience. very soothing. very zen. at least until the security guard from the day before stepped outside to smoke. then i tried hiding from him by crawling deeper in the box, which unfortunately did not work. instead he saw a sort of damp sniveling pale hairless creature eating fish in a box, and delivered the verbal killshot of "good morning, mr. smeagol." which is how my day was ruined before 8 am.
btw it's so fucking stupid you can be anxious physically in your body even after you've decided mentally you don't care. I'm supposed to be in charge here
one genre of fanfiction that seems to have mostly disappeared since i became an adult is shenanigans-type fics. like not exactly crack but just "the gang goes to 7-11" type, extremely low-stakes plot stories. the beach episodes of fanfiction. i just feel like i don't see those around so much anymore. whered they go. i miss them :(
the she-ra reboot makes this video relevant again which means we are in the best timeline

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

my favorite thing about the mystery genre is that we all accept the concept of "world famous detective" without hesitation even though that is absolutely not a real category of celebrity
i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.
spent MONTHS looking for this stupid tumblr post bcuz i constantly want to reference it and it wouldn't come up no matter what i searched despite it being (what i thought) was a popular well-known tumblr post only to find that the original blog turned off reblogs and deactivated and that it only got 12k notes total. but im posting it anyway to preserve its legacy
When I asked what I was reading, I explained to my boyfriend’s parents that I had just finished Benito Cereno and was on to The Black Arrow because I was just going down an alphabetical livrebox playlist. They looked at each other and said “hm.” “Yes we like that.”

why did we decide to make ACTORS celebrities? Those guys? They’re just pretty theatre kids. And haven’t we learned by now that they do not make good role models?
some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
Shakespeare is like this
Every time I see a Van Gogh that’s not one of his better known pieces it absolutely blows me away
Have you seen this shit my liege? smh unreal
