Rest In Peace to Kevin Conroy. Not just a fantastic voice actor and incredibly talented performer, not just a member of the LGBT+ who poured his experiences into an iconic performance, not just the DEFINITIVE voice of Batman, but an incredibly kind and wonderful man.

The man was on another level. Any portrayal of Batman uses him as the standard to compare to, he was just that good. And he kept reprising the role for YEARS, having played the Dark Knight as recently as a few months back with Multiversus, his final role. He voiced the Bat in countless appearances, because his take on the character was that beloved. No matter how talented anyone to wear the cowl in the future is, they’ll always have his performance to live up to.

I wasn’t raised on the animated series(born a little too late for that), but I grew up with the Arkham series, and just as with a lot of other people, Kevin’s Batman quickly became the voice I heard when I imagined the character, and that’s still the case today.

A few years back, I actually commissioned a cameo video from him. Back then, it was cool, but mostly a funny joke. It’s suddenly become a lot more valuable to me, and I think it’s something I’ll never forget.

Thank you so much for all your work, Mr. Conroy. Rest In Peace.

Conversely, maybe the most captivating and silly of Conroy's reads on Batman was from this episode of Justice League: Unlimited, entitled "This Little Piggy," where he has to relinquish something near and dear to him to get the Amazonian goddess Circe to reverse her spell on Wonder Woman.

Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:

The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!

So if anyone’s wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:

And I wanna stress that when i say “top of the leg” i’m not talking about the crotch (please don’t flag me tumblr it’s an anatomical term) i’m talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:

So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:

But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!

just to clarify what we’re seeing here:

cully pratt, chris pratt’s brother, a sergeant in the solano county sheriff’s department in california, openly supports the three-percenters, a far-right militia group with ties to the january 6th insurrection at the us capitol among other things, and posts their imagery online.

chris pratt hypes his brother, and has also been seen at public appearances wearing three-percenter symbols, thereby publicly endorsing this shit as well.

i’ve already seen people try to distance chris pratt from this, saying, “it’s his brother, not him!!” hate to break it to you, but when you are a famous person and use your platform to publicly display symbols endorsing far-right hate and white supremacy, that makes you culpable. he is at best completely ignorant, but that’s giving him a lot more credit than he deserves, frankly; even so, even if he actually is just ignorant, that definitely doesn’t give him a pass. there should be accountability no matter what.
