i haven't gotten to see phm yet but have seen A LOT of clips online - grace record like 'mission logs' right? are they numbered? did he have to explain to Rocky why he was getting a chuckle from number 67 and 69? as a teacher, i'm sure he got to hear LOADS of the worst memes imaginable.... does Grace teach Rocky what a meme IS? how the heck would that work

there are some logs being recorded! and there are some numbers in the corner of the screen, though they are small. however imagining the meme potential here is pretty great.

i do also want to say that in the book, the hail mary was sent off with all of human knowledge on the computers (and there was actually a copyright trial about this lol), so it is actually very possible for rocky to learn what a meme is; he's got the entire internet potentially at his claws 🥹

at some point he's probably getting a hold of urban dictionary. at some point ryland grace regrets every life choice that led him to this moment LKDJDHD

if i think too hard about how project hail mary couldn't have ended any other way, i start to go insane. any ending in which ryland grace and rocky are not together is the bad ending. they could've both separately gone home to their respective planets as heroes, but something would be missing because a piece of them would always be missing. to be loved is to be changed.

why is no one talking about the book reunion scene. did you know when grace explains that he’s going to die of starvation, rocky immediately tells him to leave and go back home, that he’ll just keep waiting, that erid might send another ship someday. i’m going crazy. rocky had probably completely accepted his fate and then grace miraculously appeared and gave him back his life and his home. and he was instantly willing to give it all up again just so grace could survive. can anyone hear me. this is insane. i’m insane

I actually do think we should discourage women from becoming housewives. Do not become financially dependent on a man. That's how a lot of women ended up dead over the years. A man gets violent suddenly and you have to choose between homelessness or potentially dying at his hand because you have an enormous gap in your resume and no degrees or certifications or anything that will help you pursue a career that will allow you to be financially independent. He owns your bank account. His name is probably the one on the car. Try and leave and he can report it stolen. Where will you go then?
