Doing a final project in my stats class, we have to pick a subject and collect data on it. We need at least 100 data points, and I figured this blog is big enough that a poll on here could get to that pretty easily!
Doing my project on if itās more likely to be born in certain months :]
I have gotten the OK from my teacher to collect data using a Tumblr poll, btw. Iām also going to have to send her this post as proof of where I got the data from / proof I didnāt just make up the numbers. So. Behave

It's one of many reasons that workers tell Polygon they are eager to unionize.
Employees and developers working on Magic: The Gathering Arena say they were hired with promises of remote flexibility, so they bought homes and built lives around those assurances. But they say they are now being told they may need to relocate to Washington state ā or effectively lose their jobs.
Those concerns are a major reason why a supermajority of workers on the Arena team are attempting to unionize with the Communications Workers of America, under the banner United Wizards of the Coast. The group publicly launched its campaign on April 27, calling on Wizards of the Coast and parent company Hasbro to voluntarily recognize the union by May 1.
These employees are doing important and laudable work in response to being forced into a bad situation but Iām glad they still took the opportunity to call themselves āUnited Wizardsā
WotC has still refused to recognize the union and has escalated to sending organizers letters directly to their homes about how unionizing is a bad idea. Luckily, our United Wizards are educated, organized, and agitated and the form letter from Hasbro was as laughable as it was threatening.
If you want to help out the United Wizards you can sign this petition

Solidarity baby!
The Good King and Evil Queen are so interesting conceptually because theyāre so fundamentally different and yet. And yet.
And I think about Raven wondering if her mother was like her when she was young, and the small parts of EQ we got to see in the Class of Classics comic, and I wonder. Because the haunting thing about the two of them is how unnecessary they are. Heās her second husband, who she married after her fairy tale already played out. She could have married an evil king, or a villain of some other story, but she chose him.
Likewise, he chose her! He didnāt need to, he didnāt have to follow down that path and condemn himself to the marriage but he saw something in this evil, conniving, maniacal queen that spoke to him and made him consider staying.
Thereās this completely empty period of time between the EQ going on her rampage and the end of her story where the two would have married, and it just makes me wonder. Was there a time where she considered changing? Was there a part of her she buried that only he could bring forward? Is that why she still asks Raven about him to this day? Was there a time between stories and wars and rebellions where the two were happy?
We will never know, but I like to think there was. That, for even just the briefest moment, an evil queen and good king got a moment of peace away from their world of extremes to simply exist in the middle.
Harsh, but I accept it I suppose.

āThese are my red flags for women:
If she stabs me more than twice.
If she has a concerning amount of ex-husbands who died on their honeymoon, like... [a brief pause for thought] Like four or more.
If Gozer the Gozerian asks me to choose the form of the destructor and then one of my childhood crushes walks through New York City at 300 feet tall, uh, and steps on a church... [takes a breath and pauses for a second] I mean, itās not the height! Itās not the height. I like a climb. But, like. [another breath] She stepped on a church. Or any building, really, ācause. [deep breath followed by a brief pause] Legally theyāre not supposed to be able to ask you about that on like your homeownerās association application, but- but theyāll ask. Theyāll look it up.
If she doesnāt exist in the same physical timeline as I am... [several seconds long pause before continuing, sounding distraught] Iām not doing that again.ā

I think people would be less suicidal if they were allowed to talk about being suicidal without risk of being sent to the Torture Dungeon
undiagnosed autistic people will be like "I don't get upset when my routine changes though!!" and it's because they've built a set of if-then loops in their head to pick from one of 6 different strict routines and they do get incredibly upset when they're unable to keep to any of the 6 scripts. I'm john normal
This is called a fault tree. You will always know how to act if your fault tree captures all possible scenarios. In NASA Mission Control during mission critical events like landings there are huge binders with fault tree protocols, kind of like choose your own adventure books except youāre not the one making the choices, the universe is making them for you and youāre just trying to keep up.
The engineers who develop fault trees, I am told, often imagine new ways for their precious spacecraft to die (new branches on the fault trees) either while in the shower or lying awake at 3am, because human
Was just thinking about this the other day. Yeah I have a favorite seat on the bus (middle of the bus, near the back doors, slightly elevated, facing forward), but I donāt get upset if someone is already sitting there, I just pick one of my other favorite spots. Then I realized that most people probably donāt have a favorite bus seat, let alone a series of backup favorites.

and if I say I think part of the reason people are obsessed with doing woke gender essentialism and neurodivergent discourse is bc they never developed a personality outside of quirky hogwarts house bullshit but they canāt say theyāre a hufflepuff in public without getting booed anymore
Going further: A lot of people are actually intrinsically anchored to classical norms (gender, sexual, etc.) but cannot apply them to themselves because by pure chance they do not belong to them, so they try to reformulate the paradigm but in a queer friendly way.
I feel like not enough people realize that people under enormous strain act really really fucking Weird
If someone is doing things that don't make Sense, try to understand that it is entirely possible that their brain is probably under an enormous weight and fracturing under the pressure. People who have been stabbed will sometimes talk a circle around the fact that they've been stabbed because stress and shock prevent you from recognizing the distress you are in and what you need to do to seek help for it. PTSD will do this also. You will find yourself repeatedly jamming a bag of frozen fruit into the same spot in the freezer where it doesn't fit and keeps falling, over and over and over, focused on nothing but that bag. You will decide that a beanbag chair is 10000% necessary to your life. You will lose your entire shit because you stubbed your toe on a table and that means the whole setup of your furniture is wrong. These are largely harmless examples. People under strain will also hurt themselves and others. Cornered animals bite. And it doesn't heal the bite to go "Hey, are you okay?" But it might get you to an animal that stops biting, so you can start to heal. And before you had an animal that bit, you probably had an animal that kept doing shit you didn't understand as stress signals

The concept of every possible wedding in the EAH cast is inhertly funny because the cast is messy and every character as some weird history with the other member, but the funniest scenario for me is the one between Duchess and Sparrow because they are objectively having the time of their lives (Duchess especially since she started with very poor romantic prospects. Plus at this point in the story, I think Sparrow has managed to regain his noble titles so he can give her a life of a real princess) but around them, madness is happening! But like:
Faybelle arriving super late to the party because, well, she's Faybelle. She crash at the wedding Dark Fairy style and everyone is not scare but annoyed.
Ramona decided to invite Justine as her plus one: they spent the evening arguing because joke filrt with a swan maid.
Realistically, the ceremony is in the enchanted forest, which means that Cerise and Badwolf (who are relatives of the groom, remember) are hyper-stimulated by everything.
Lizzie and Daring having this weird Party4You moment where they reminisce about the good old days, even tho Daring is probably married at this point (Bonus points because they got together and broke up because of Sparrow and Duchess)
All their friends in general will have a "I remember when you two almost ruined our lives" speech, especially Ashlynn and Hunter. Raven being like "It's so nice when two horrible people find love. Anyway, I'm here to sing, as long as they pay me"
Competitive parental neglect table with Marian, Robin, King Swan* and Odile (who is supposedly Duchess's stepmother) where they were sent for etiquette and spend their time competing to see who was the most deadbeat parent.
Granny Swan and Aunt Heather hate each other, but hate those four more so in the end they team up.
Apple is not invited because why would she
There is something sooo deeply American going on with Seattle Childrenās Hospital that I think would brick the minds of everyone outside of the United States.
The CHILDRENS hospital has to restrict helipad landings because of noise complaints from the wealthy home owners living next to it. Only the most urgent patients can land directly at the hospital. While the other kids have to land a mile away and are taken to the hospital via ambulance. Which is an unnecessary risk to the childās life and also makes the families pay for the helicopter AND ambulance.
The hospital says some limits on helipad access add pressure when children need lifesaving care.
Apparently this has been going on for decades and is only getting traction because a pilot complained on Twitter.

Local LGBTIQ+ organisation LEGABIBO welcomed the governmentās move, describing it as āa necessary and long-overdue step toward restoring dignity and aligning our legal framework with constitutional values of equality and human rights.ā The group said the change sends āa clear message that LGBTIQ+ persons are not criminals, and that their lives and relationships deserve protection, not punishment.ā LEGABIBO noted that the colonial-era provisions had long cast a shadow over the lives of LGBTIQ+ people in the country.

I honestly think a nice twist for Ginger in her adult life would be if she were actually the next Cinderella, since in Kiss & Spell she says it's her favorite fairy tale. Technically, her storyline with Hopper already seems to suggest that direction, with her, poor thing, falling in love with him, a prince, and it's implicitly implied that he's her true love.
But even if we don't want Hopper in the middle, it could work like this: Ginger has grown up, hasn't followed her destiny, and now she owns a shop selling magical sweets with miraculous powers. One day, one of the various Charming princes, perhaps one of Daring's cousins, stops by her bakery. He organizes a ball, and Ginger is called in to do the catering, and the two fall in love. So the day after the ball, the search for the girl with the miraculous sweets beginsāthey find her, they get married, and Ginger lives happily ever after, without having to think about Hopper.
Happy birthday to my beautiful controversial girl
