Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryeong
8/10.......really didn't expect to be of the depth it was. Also been a long time since I finished a 20 episode drama. That felt nice.
This is a female historian's story. So the focus is largely on this designation. And I actually liked the whole office.
Prince Dowon is the male lead only because he is the one our protagonist falls for. Their bickering and them falling in love was so cute. Their breakup made sense and them finding Their way back to each other was in character.
Loved how it all ended. With them being basically in a live in. Spectacularly modern themes for a period drama ngl. He was the partner at home writing books and travelling. And she was the one with a regular job.
Also the villain of the tale is someone corrupted by power. They spell it out and he refuses to acknowledge his wrongdoings.
If the genre was not romcom there would have been so much blood and angst. And we would have had a brooding injured prince instead of the fluffball we had.
So anyway. That was a cute show. Led by a woman. Just because Dowon is in the posters don't let that fool you. This is Hae Ryeong's tale.
