OPLA EPISODE 1 THOUGHTS
I'm very hype but also stoned so...
The fighting is well done but surprisingly realistic. Atleast besides the obvious special effects.
Also can already tell this show will mess with my sexuality.
Attracted to everyone female, male, and cannon NB character!
BABY LUFFY
Only 10 minutes into episode 1 and I'm crying. Just cause seeing this world I've read over and over and imagined so many times in actual view. And seeing these characters as real humans. It's like coming home

I've risen from the ashes and have returned to my first Fandom trash home.
And just in time!
For my longest Fandom to get a new resurgence. One piece live action is out and I'm seeing a whole new world of people fall in love with the amazing one piece world!
So I'm going to be spaming about that for the next foreseeable future.
If you want to avoid ill use the #opla and #opspam
Has ANYONE ever seen or even heard of these movies? I watched them growing up but I feel like I stumbled across obscure tapes and they were like from a different existence cause no one I know has heard of these.
The seventh brother- a lost dog gets adopted by a family of rabbits
Willie the sparrow- human boy gets turned into a sparrow
Scamper the penguin- it's about a blue penguin, his pink penguin friend, snowflake, and a macaroni penguin named Mac.
Look at these. They're more ridiculous than I remember
He has a fucking bowl cut wtf
These movies were all foreign films if I remember correctly. Like I'm pretty sure most of them were from Hungary. The dubs that us mericans grew up with were thanks to a certain company called feature films for families.
If you grew up with these films, it's very likely your parents were conservative Christians. All of their live action movies (Friendship's field, the velveteen rabbit buttercream gang, jumping for joy etc) preached fundamentalist family values. The head guy of the company also considered R rated movies basically the downfall of humanity. So basically, "stop going to the sinful theaters and watch our food Christan direct to video movies".
It's also possible your parents got these films through telemarketing calls (like my mom). They even got in deep shit for calling more than 99 million calls on the national do not call list.

Okay, but THIS.
My therapist only recently understood that when I said, âI donât know how to make this phone call or make this appointment.â I very literally meant I didnât know what to do. I can dial the phone, but what do I say EXACTLY? What questions are going to be asked? What do I need to have on hand? What if they ask me something I donât know the answer to?
Iâm one of those people that needs very specific and detailed instructions if Iâm doing something for the first time.
Be patient with people. We all have our struggles. Sometimes it can make all the difference in the world knowing someone can spare a few minutes to care about you and walk you through something thatâs hard for you.
Itâs very weird to realize I had severe social anxiety up until fairly recently in my life.
Iâm almost certain my therapist doesnât understand what I mean when I say that too. They still do what I canât for me because Iâm in their support program, but maybe itâll help if I explain this to them because Iâm not really getting any better.
If I can help anyone on this site with instructions like this please let me know.
Nicky: People who sleep with their phone on silent or dnd really don't give AF about nobody's life
Neil: look if you decide to have a problem after midnight thatâs between you and god tbh
Matt: I spent two minutes wondering how I could set my phone to Dungeons and Dragons
I keep using my girlfriend with unusual work hours to get out of coworker interactions and happy hours and hanging out.
But now the company holiday party is upon us.
And Iâve been lying about the girlfriend.
I suddenly really empathise with the characters in Hallmark Christmas movies.
I like that people have two reactions to this post.
Reasonable: âjust say she couldnât make it!â
Chaotic: FAKE DATING AU
And so it begins
Update, Craigslist has flagged my post as inappropriate.
Apparently you canât solicit a date as a âgigâ
I now see my mistake
Update: a date has been acquired. This is true lesbian solidarity in action.
My wife has now read this and wonders how baby gays are even meeting and mating
Can confirm I am meeting and mating just fine đ
By the way Iâm in a relationship with this woman now
This is the feedback Iâve been looking for

Alien: Youâre telling me that in times of great distress humans have been known to suddenly gain the strength necessary to lift objects more than a dozen times their own weight?!
Human: Yeah, itâs called âhysterical strengthâ and it usually happens in life-or-death situations, like when someone gets stuck under a car or something and someone lifts the car to get them out. We canât really test it though, âcause it only happens spontaneously.
Alien: Humans have the ability to tap into untold strength and power and you donât even know how you do it?
Human: Pretty much, yeah. We think it has something to do with temporary analgesia, so we just donât feel the pain we should when we pick up a 3000-pound car.
Alien: YOUR PAIN RESPONSE JUST SHUTS OFF?
Human: Yeah, itâs like an adrenaline thing? Do you not have that?
Alien: Fuck you and your entire species of tiny juggernauts.
Did this post just use a dialogue format to trick me into learning science
Had to check this out on wikipedia at least and boy was that a ride
SCIENCE!
Just so you guys know. Hysterical strength is basically your body not holding back and going %100 though there is a great danger of you hurting yourself or breaking something since your ignoring pain and going %100. There was a case where a kid deadlifted a car to save a sibling but, cracked 8 of his teeth during it because he was clenching his jaw so hard. So whilst you can lift a car or fight off polar bears. Your probably going to break something. Because most of the time when we are âgiving our allâ we are only giving a fraction of what we could give and this is because if we truly give our all we can seriously injure ourselves.
This is literally an explanation of Deku and his abilities with One For All.
Humans naturally hold back because our muscles have enough strength to rip themselves apart
STOP GIVING THE ALIENS REASONS NOT TO VISIT.
@celestial-naiad the whole one million percent smash was actually hysterical strength, according to horikoshi.
on an unrelated note, did you know that if all the muscles in your back clenched at once your spine would shatter? have fun!!
Thats a horrifying and empowering thought at the same time.
Also: when you are sufficiently electrocuted and âthrown backâ what is actually happening is your muscles contracting so hard and fast you essentially fling yourself away from the dangerous thing.
This is the same stuff that stops you from biting off your own fingers and whatnot. Our brains just say âno, donât,â whenever we try to do some dumbass shit, until we reach the point where itâs either do the dumbass shit or die/watch someone else die. I think itâs really cool though that we can shut off this function for others than ourselves. It shows a lot how we truly are social creatures at our core, that we donât just do this when itâs our own body that might die, but for others in our community as well.Â
This is why a zombie would be extremely terrifying for a short period, and then neutralize itself. No fear and no pain means it could rip apart the gates to your fortress with its bare hands, but it would tear its arms or break its back in the process and never do anything very dangerous again.
This also means that anybody with a magical super-healing power would essentially get super strength out of the mix for free if they could get past the psychological limitations. Thatâs probably what makes vampires so strong; they donât actually put out any more force than a normal human but they repair any damage they take in the process almost instantly.
@krunchy-tuna why would you hide this hilarious comment in the tags
