Listen Daniel’s involvement with the Stargate program makes total sense but also it’s so funny to think about him being part of a field team. Like “hi we’re SG-1, arguably the most famous warriors in the galaxy. Our team consists of a war vet, an Air Force captain, a high ranking rebel of the people we’re fighting, oh and also we gave this archaeologist a gun.”

I just think it’s really important that the Stargate writers had Jack and Daniel take turns being right about the moral dilemma of the week. The idea that one way of thinking is always going to resolve every problem is too simplistic and can give the audience an unjustifiable sense of moral superiority when they relate to the character who is “always right.”

It’s like. People can tell if you don’t really like or connect with them. If you aren’t truly enamored with someone you will have a hard time coming up with activities to do together to deepen the friendship. Because you don’t really like that person that much.

My old person take today is that I feel like people have normalized being on your phone every single moment including when you're spending "quality" time with others so much that they're defensive if someone isn't ok with it. Yes, you have a problematic relationship with your phone and social media if you physically cannot put it down for a couple of hours to like, have dinner with your friends. It's a show of respect for other people's time and energy as well as important to be present and connect with people around you. Your parents who told you no phone at the table were right for that one.
