I went for a long walk to the pharmacy again today.
Walking is SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!!!
Oh man I can't believe I forgot. You know that post that was like "tell me what clothes you've bought because of a character" or whatever. I searched for ages to find an adequate white cable knit sweater because of Ransom's in knives out.
It's a good sweater
I'm putting this here bc I feel like it's information everyone needs. You can find it here.
I don't knit but that's hilarious because this looks like such a complicated pattern for a beginner
Oh it is. There's at least three different styles of cabling. And more advanced cabling at that. That sweater would take me like a year to finish.
All the cabling is done the same way. You just need to read your knitting and keep track of which row you're on
No, but for real. Knitting is just loops. Cables? Spicy loops. Lace? Spicy loops. Color work? Multicolored spicy loops.
There are no levels in knitting, there are no exams to pass or goals to achieve before you can continue.
The Handsome Chris is a perfect beginner project. It's all one color, it's knit flat, you get to learn lots of new techniques all at once, but most of all it's engaging and you're working towards a goal you really like.
I would have impaled myself on my needles if I'd been forced to complete a Sophie scarf before I got to advance to something more "challenging" like a washcloth, or God forbid a ribbed hat.
My very first project was a self-drafted 11-strand intarsia double sided cable scarf, because I didn't know I wasn't allowed and that was what I wanted to make.
This attitude of mystifying certain fabrics as advanced really twists my stitches. I cannot do simple stockinette colorwork to save my life, but I can 3-color brioche without looking.
There are no levels in knitting.
Make that fucking Handsome Chris if you want to, it's a great sweater. Or start with the Sophie scarf if that's more your vibe. But don't ever think that knitting is hard.
You sound like me telling a beginner crocheter "nah the alligator stitch is easy for a beginner, it's all just double crochets!" (a real thing I have said to people picking up a crochet hook for the first time). I'm not saying you can't start with a complicated stitch I'm saying it's very funny when people do.
#I mean. knitting and crochet both just build onto very basic stitches#once you know the basics itβs short work to do those βharderβ stitches#you just gotta practice them!
"Once you know the basics" is my point. Beginners do not know the basics. I am a beginner knitter and let me tell you we're doing shit like "trying to remember how to cast on", "not dropping too many stitches and going on without noticing if you can help it", "trying to figure out how to keep consistent tension so the width of the project doesn't keep changing", and "trying to remember the difference between a knit and a purl because at least a quarter of these stitches are definitely backwards".
following weird horny furries who are into shit like pooltoys and transformation and stuff is enrichment. the vitamins and minerals of posting
once you get over your ass and realise you will never get some people and thatβs ok you are basically immune to right wing fearmongering. otherkin? none of my fucking business
I must not fall victim to disgust. Disgust is the heart-killer. Disgust is the little-death that brings total apathy. I will face my disgust. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the disgust has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
hell you may even like it

β‘PERSONALITY DISORDERS: What the heck is supply?!β‘
If youβre persodivergent or know someone else whoβs persodivergent, Iβm sure youβve heard the term supply before, and you likely have a pretty good understanding of it based on the way it circulates in the community. However, I havenβt been able to find a good resource that accurately describes what supply looks like overall. Sure, thereβs plenty of resources for specific pd supply sources, especially the more βpopularβ pds, but what is supply at its core?
Supply is something that makes a persodivergent individual feel good about themselves to a degree that persotypicals have a hard time grasping. Itβs something that gives feelings like euphoria, energy, etc. Supply fuels them, makes them feel good and like theyβre able to function normally. When someone is low on supply they may get snappy, nervous, low on energy, etc. Supply can sometimes even be powerful enough to break splitting! Itβs like a battery for persodivergent people, when your supply battery runs low your disorder will start acting up in negative ways. This is why itβs important to surround yourself with people willing to give you what you need without sacrificing anything by doing so. Otherwise, youβll both be miserable, and thatβd suck. Not all persodivergent individuals have this supply battery, of course, but for those that do itβs important to them to have this battery be filled every once in a while. Itβs always best to ask what is most helpful for these individuals when their supply is running low, however, as every persodivergent individual is different.
Personality disorders tend to develop due to emotional neglect in certain areas, meaning that those with persodivergence will be particularly excited when they arenβt being neglected in that same way. As stated in this post by @thatnarcissisticfeel, when an individual is constantly faced with being ignored or getting negative feedback as a child and their natural coping mechanism is that everyone else is wrong and that theyβre better than everyone, they may end up with NPD. Therefore, giving a pwNPD positive feedback and making sure not to ignore them and to include them in things can be supply for them, as thatβs actively going against the neglect they went through that caused the personality disorder in the first place. Of course, compliments and telling them theyβre the best could also feed into this supply battery, as that proves their coping mechanism of being the best correct. However, if itβs suspected to be disingenuous, that can have the opposite effect.Β
Certain disorders, such as ASPD, SZPD, PPD, and STPD are less likely to have a supply battery due to the fact the coping mechanism is detaching themselves from the need for what they were neglected with. This does not make it impossible for supply to exist for these disorders, but there tends to be less of a need for outside validation due to the nature of these disorders. Itβs best to ask if thereβs anything you can do for these individuals, as it's a lot more subjective and uncertain when it comes to them.Β
Supply for a handful of other disorders include: β§ Giving your full attention to someone with HPD when they talk about their interests and engaging to show youβre actually listening. β§ Applauding someone with OCPD for doing so well on a test or other project, especially if you engage and say what exactly you loved about it.
β§ Assurance and actions to prove to a pwBPD that you wonβt leave and that you enjoy being in their presence. Reaching out to a pwBPD first can give supply, too.
β§ Checking in on someone with AVPD when you suspect theyβre isolating and letting them know you appreciate them and that nobody hates them for just existing.
β§ Helping someone with DPD to make decisions and talking them through it logically so you arenβt just telling them what to do but also helping them think about it without making them decide completely alone.
Some general supply ideas include:
β§ Asking specific questions about interest(s)
β§ Specific compliments
β§ Reaching out first
β§ Remembering little details
β§ Celebrating meeting goals (anything from just acknowledgement to maybe even a party if a bigger thing like a job promotion)

When he found out about what happened to Grace, Rocky was reasonably horrified and livid. On their way to Erid, Grace hears the most beautiful tune he cannot seem to understand. It doesnβt sound Eridian, it just sounds like regular music. He sees Rocky on his laptop messing with Garage Band. Grace asks whatβs up, very amused. Rocky tells him,
Rocky made Stratt diss track.
