I had a thought about how the first time osteon saw scott was when he was fighting the rift.
They thought the rift had developed new powers at first.
It was a worrying thought, seeing a storm of ice and snow center on the rift. Until the blizzard ended.
And a man stood on a path of ice, calmly, surely, and efficiently killing the nether mobs that spawned in.
Osteon watched for a moment as the man maneuvered the ice to suffocate some of the wither skeletons, before summoning another blizzard and nearly disappearing into the freezing storm.
A freezing, ferocious display.
It was a beautiful sight, they will admit privately to themself. The moonlight catching the ice in frozen fractals, the frost crystalizing onto the grass around the fight, only for the nether-heat to melt it all away as soon as the spell ended.
It was such a shame that the ice mage left as osteon landed nearby.
Thankfully, a small pile of forgotten loot caught their eye, and with it an excuse to seek out the towering ice mage...
