What’s it to you?” He regretted the words the moment they left his mouth, but something – something about Ace being here, speaking to him, made him want to press all of the pirate’s buttons.

The green haired boy was glaring at the blond boy next to him who was staring at the girl with orange hair, while the shortest boy tried to see if he could reach the branches of the palm tree if he stretched his rubbery arms. The long nosed one was chattering to the boy who left his loud tropical shirt unbuttoned, scrutinizing their heights, but it was unclear if they were trying to evaluate the situation or just see who was taller. The girls seemed much more interested in cooing over the baby reindeer sitting in front of them. They might be a few feet shorter, but there was no mistaking it: these were the Straw Hat pirates.

He knew Mihawk had a connection to Shanks, but to be lovers... some people really had no taste."Yes, yes," the woman whispered, "the one with the ridiculous hat and the red nose, that's the one who..."The clown's feet kept moving while his body remained there, rooted to the spot in the middle of the pier. Wait a minute. Were they talking about him?! About him and Shanks?

There would be nothing distracting his son from his duties.But Shamrock had known and felt differently, even if he had kept such thoughts to himself. He could be a dutiful knight and a soulmate at the same time. The yarn in his hands, vibrant blue and so very soft to the touch, was proof of it.

Rayleigh's voice was calm; as calm as it could be when Gaban had just come back with a little red haired boy that was definitely not Shanks no matter how closely he resembled him. A little boy dressed in finery and looking at Gaban with naked terror.
"In my defense, it was Roger's fault. How was I supposed to know he had Shanks?"
Rayleigh inhaled. Exhaled. Reminded himself mutiny was out of the question because that would mean he would be the one to lead the crew and he already had enough duties as it was. Herding Roger and Gaban as if they were both children as well was just one of them.
"So you just grabbed a random child?"
Said random child was trying to stealthily take several steps backwards, probably to make a run for it, but stopped as soon as Rayleigh leveled him a look. Rayleigh had not forgotten the Holy Knights that had ambushed them the week before, screaming that they would return Shank to his father. If this child was their son's twin… well, it was better if he remained with them.
"What's your name, kid?"
"My name is Saint Figarland Shamrock," the boy said. "And you will unhand me now and return me to my father."

Buggy had thought the crew would be easy to steal from; they looked like idiots! The swordsman was too busy arguing with the blonde and the captain was more interested in a dumb hat than anything else and the sniper was screeching for Seas' sake! What kind of crew was that?
So he'd figured, well, an easy mark was an easy mark. Idiots that they were they probably didn't have a lot of treasure, but they might have some. And they'd anchored that eyesore of a ship of theirs in such an easy to access dock. The sheep head stood out for any marine to see!
Boy was he wrong about that!
