i think a lot of people see general genuine enthusiasm for life as like lowbrow or simple or dumb or whatever but to me it's actually one of the most enlightened qualities an individual can possess

also unsurprising that Taylor and Travis are making guests check their phones and obviously it's a privacy consideration, but given how much Taylor has been driving home the message of late that people need to get the fuck offline, forcing everyone in attendance from a wide cross-section of backgrounds to be phone-free for an evening and actually tangibly experience the moment like they are is incredibly chic of them imo

Everything about today just feels right truly like prices falling into place like of course it’s Travis nobody else feels like an option and that’s from the outside I can only imagine how it feels from the inside

Also say what the fuck you what about how Taylor Swift should be taxed (she is taxed, they invented a whole ass tax for her in Rhode Island) and I agree she should be. But ON TOP OF THAT, every single one of these charities she and Travis just donated to is related to a place she lives or has lived. She is literally paying into her community! Directly!!

“iTs pErForMaTiVe” there is physically $26 million more dollars in the hands of people who need it like at what point does that adjective mean legitimately nothing

in hindsight it's kinda funny that taylor used to worry that her songwriting was directly tied to her misery and pain. this girl was thirteen years old writing about everything under the sun whether she'd experienced it or not; she wrote about feelings she imagined, experiences she perceived in others, and stories she straight up fabricated. that well of inspiration is tied to your imagination, girl, not your sadness! and i think it's really beautiful that being with travis has been a factory reset of sorts where she's once again free to write about the full human experience without hinging that creative output on her status as a tortured artist, when that was never her ethos as a writer to begin with.

and this is what i love so much about showgirl. it captures the full experience of taylor's life during a period of time without revolving around one cataclysmic event.
