I fear many of us are forgetting that trans men belong to Men (the gender) but not Men (the sociopolitical class) and I think thats an important distinction
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.
post so nice had to reblog it twice and force it down everyone's throats
At minimum about 4.5 thousand people liked this without reblogging it.
We gotta fix that.
Progress.
Onwards!
I can't access the full paper, but their conclusion is right there in the abstract:
While transgender women exhibited higher lean mass than cisgender women, their physical fitness was comparable. Current evidence is mostly low certainty and has heterogenous quality but does not support theories of inherent athletic advantages for transgender women over cisgender.
Always reblog I love my sisters this is big news
if you assume a trans woman is going to top because of her genitalia start running. I am coming to get you.
if you assume a trans man is going to bottom because of his genitalia start running. I am coming to get you.
if you assume a nonbinary person is going to fill some sexual role because of their genitalia start running. I am coming to get you.
There are many grown adults on this website that are very bitter they did not get to be the Heathers or the Plastics or whatever in their youth for one reason or another. They wanted to be the kid who could get away with anything because they were privileged and rich and pretty, but they couldn’t.
And then they grow up and try to replicate that behavior with other adults they think are easy targets (or teenagers sometimes) to try and chip away at the monolith of hate and bitterness that years of torment and oppression will build in your heart, or maybe it will somehow stop the torment from continuing.
It’s very sad and pathetic, frankly.

What aspects of male privilege do you believe that transgender men have?
Male privilege is not constantly looking over your shoulder because you aren’t as likely to be assaulted. Trans men have a very high chance of being sexually assaulted compared to their cisgender counterparts (107.5 per 1000 people vs 19.8 per 1000 people, according to the UCLA School of Law Williams Institute.) Trans men also face higher rates of intimate partner violence in general.
Male privilege is having zero fears about being discriminated against by employers on the basis of gender and sex. Trans men do worry about this, frequently. While it is true that trans men on average are paid more than trans women, it is important to remember that it is 70 cents vs 60 cents for every dollar a cisgender man makes. UPDATE: Turns out that the study I linked here only surveyed 7000 individuals and excluded non full time workers! This study with a much larger sample size actually found that that AFAB trans people generally have lower incomes, but that people who transition younger and stay stealth will tend to have income profiles that resemble their cisgender counterparts. Most other research about workplace discrimination against transgender and nonbinary people that I was able to find does not separate trans women and trans men as a category, and that’s assuming they even separated out nonbinary participants.
Male privilege is when you can easily access essential medical care without your gender or sex being a barrier. Trans men do not have this, for a variety of reasons. For one example, in the United States, testosterone is a schedule 3 restricted substance, like opiods. If you have ever been prescribed opioid medication or know someone who has, you know that pharmacies routinely make getting schedule 3s very difficult for patients that have prescriptions, and they are treated like addicts. Testosterone has been schedule 3 for 35 years. Sure, you could try DIY from a random gym bro who probably watches Andrew Tate. That’s a fantastic way to get assaulted or get something that’s cut with other stuff. Estrogen is currently not scheduled at all, and while DIY estrogen is not easy to obtain, it is leagues less risky than DIY testosterone.
Male privilege is having reproductive rights and autonomy. Trans men do not have this in many places across the world. In the best case this can look like insurance refusing to cover birth control after a legal sex change on official documents. At worst it can result in being forced to carry an unwanted pregnancy. And getting voluntarily sterilized if you have a uterus is notoriously difficult, regardless of whether you’re a cis woman or a trans man or nonbinary.
This is not to say that trans women have privilege over trans men, that would be an absurd thing to say. This is also not to say that transmisogyny isn’t a real and significant problem, because it is. Trans men are more than capable of being transmisogynistic, as is literally everyone else.
However, recent discourse has been pretending that trans men as a class are equivalent to cisgender men, which is simply not true. You cannot have male privilege if wider society does not see you as a man, and in most cases trans men are not treated as by society. Being trans means you are treated by whichever set of gendered standards will hurt you the most in that moment, because bigotry and hypocrisy go hand in hand. We seem to all agree that this happens to trans women, but popular discourse seems to assume that trans men get all the benefits of both classes which is frankly absurd.
Some of y’all really, really need to go outside.

as part of the transfem voices project, mousidy felt the need to highlight the voice of a woman who, as a 12 year old boy addicted to loli pornography, molested an 8 year old girl and spent years in the juvenile detention system as a result. this woman is now a 30 year old self-admitted pedophile, enabled by parents (whose support she credits with keeping her alive) who have seemingly coddled her every step of the way, including somehow allowing their child the means to easily access pornography after molesting another child, who now self-flagellates on tumblr about how much she wants to die because people would want her dead just knowing that she is a pedophile. not even based on the fact that she was a 12 year old boy that molested an 8 year old girl.
she loosely connects her story to transmisogyny at the end by going "well idk if I faced transmisogyny before I came out but I did after I'm so scared because transmisogynists would call me a pedophile and they would be right everyone wants me dead I can't be pedojacketed because I have the jacket on :("
great #OwnVoices job, team. knocked it out of the park. hit the showers.

It's the start of pride month and the amount of hate I'm seeing for Hazbin Hotel is truly fucking abominable. Like, do these people not question for a single second how suspicious it looks for them to be grasping at ANY possible reason, disregarding whether it is true or false, to hate on what is arguably the most explicitly queer media in recent years?
Like. Tell me why you hate it. Give me a reason other than "I read on the internet once that the creator is problematic." Did you do ANY fact checking? Did you watch the show? Do you even know anything about the media you're making disparaging remarks about? Do you ACTUALLY care about whatever the fuck the successful queer indie creator supposedly did or are you just being performatively hateful?
Why are you jeering at people who enjoy queer media. Explain.
man, this is embarrassing.
you’re allowed to like stuff that kinda sucks. black butler is not exactly the wokest thing in the world about a lot of things, but it’s nostalgic to me. but sometimes things we like are not the pinnacle of queer media.
i did actually sit down and watch all of helluva boss and hazbin hotel to give it a fair shake. the conclusion is that hazbin has LOTS of issues in it’s writing, as does helluva boss. it sucks because there’s a lot of really cool ideas and concepts in there that just… aren’t that well executed. being a queer indie creator does not exempt vivzie from criticism, especially when it comes to how the shows treat other marginalized groups.
Me and my cousin have an ongoing bit where we pretend we made "slightly better" versions of things where we'll be like.
"That was a pretty good movie, but not as good as my movie, House of 1001 Corpses," or "I guess this song is okay. Kind of reminds me of a song I'm working on called 'Faster Car'."
Never once has it been funny or made anyone but us laugh.
This reminds me of a joke I have with two of my cousins
after looking into how trans healthcare is handled in france (the government pays for it), it kinda boils my blood to hear isff whine about how privileged yanks are over her. like u are a white woman in a relatively progressive western european country, meanwhile trans people in the US are facing a genocide, anyone with a uterus is also in grave danger if they fall pregnant, and oh, the ongoing genocidal efforts towards Native Americans and violent oppression of Black Americans. objectively she is doing way better, but she gets off on throwing a pity party. she’s probably even thin.
she is 🥰 i hate her so fucking much
The thing about Miss Piggy is that she kind of has a Roger Rabbit comedy superpower where she wins nearly any conceivable fight she's in. But unlike other characters of which that's true, like say, Bugs Bunny, who tend to win because they make the opponent play the game with their rules, Miss Piggy wins because the joke is that she can beat the shit out of literally anybody.

on that note, boy am i sick and fucking tired of posts on this site that pull some both sides bullshit on the "transfem vs transmasc wars." for one, accepting the premise that this is actually about transfems vs transmascs is already bullshit & is frankly misinformation.
and second, if you try to talk about this subject without talking about the sheer amount of lies and bad faith arguments and harassment and entrenching of every possible bit of division and us-vs-them thinking that was directed at the people talking about transandrophobia, i don't trust a word you have to say on the topic!
this is not to say that no transmasc has ever contributed to that (again, "transfems vs transmascs" is fucking propaganda, that is not the actual issue at hand here) but its VERY telling to me when people want to have A Take on the Discourse but do not actually know enough about transandrophobia theory, or how people who talk about it have been treated unfairly, for their takes to actually hold any weight or do anything productive.
#the coiner was literally called a rapist and anyone who used the word a rape apologist#it is at the foundation of the discourse#trans discourse
no literally! & people on this site will talk about rapejacketing and how much of a problem it is, and then turn around & say stuff like "well transandrophobia has a really problematic history, and the creator was lesbophobic and a rapist :/" which is entirely just through the grapevine rumor mill bullshit.
literally the basic thing i want to convince people of, is just that there is a widespread bias against transmasculinity, rooted in patriarchal social structure. and its unbelievable how much hostility comes in reaction to that idea from other trans people, and its incredible how much people blame me for this!! like im aro, im nonbinary, ive been through this before.
to me the craziest thing is that most of the more influential transandrophobes have way more skeletons in their closets than mr transandrophobia ever did.
like im not a fan of the guy myself, and i do think the sideblog was distasteful, but it was only ever found because people went digging for it. kept it completely separate from his main.
meanwhile the most popular transandrophobes not only get up to stuff on the same level of taboo/distasteful on their mains (isff’s gimmick was literally going onto random posts and bringing up her kink, which like. Rude?), but will actively go to bat for pedophiles (when they arent proudly showing off their MAP flag), STILL USING THEIR MAIN ACCOUNT.
but if you point out the hypocrisy, you’re a prude or a puritan or whatever the fuck.. bidoof’s law at it’s finest
one of my biggest gripes with the trans community and the discussion of transandrophobia is that its really fucking hard to explain to, without offending/triggering, someone who cant get pregnant, who has never had the ability to get pregnant, and would REALLY LIKE the ability to get pregnant, how pregnancy can be used as an act of violence, ESPECIALLY against trans men, and that its not the same as being forced to impregnate someone, both dysphoria wise or otherwise. like they have wildly different implications. a trans man who is forcibly impregnated is forced to stop testosterone for the duration of the pregnancy, and are often barred from legal abortion more frequently than cis women. his body is changed permanently from the pregnancy, the pregnancy can out him as trans if he is stealth, pregnant people are often times physically dependent on other people after a certain point of the pregnancy which leaves them vunerable to being trapped with an abuser, and a trans man who is dysphoric about pregnancy is going to have to live with that for the duration of the pregnancy, while watching the pregnancy that he did not want permanently change his body. on top of that, it is SO HARD to rebuild a life/career after pregnancy FOR ANYONE, AND ESPECIALLY trans men. theres a reason that forced marriage/pregnancy is such a common and effective detransition tactic against trans men, both in non-western countries but everywhere else too. theres a reason we worry about it so much. these implications simply do not exist for someone who is forced to impregnate someone. its obviously sexual assault and is horrible and it is permanently life ruining but not to the extent that actually being the pregnant party is, and pretending like theyre the same or even comparable is like. its not even transandrophobia its just ridiculous
the fact that there are multiple other trans men in the reblogs of the post expressing that if they ever got pregnant they would kill themselves should be really telling to people (trfs) that the ability to get pregnant is not a privilege (ESPECIALLY for trans men) and is often times an oppressive tool to use against people who can get pregnant, unfortunately they say that trans men bringing up the fear of pregnancy and all the implications for trans men specifically that comes with it is them "bragging to trans women about being able to get pregnant" and "transmisogynistic"
I keep running up against the fact that this is a kind of severe and lasting bodily harm that is allowed to be enacted on anyone who can become pregnant, by any member of the population who can make someone pregnant, and that in many jurisdictions it's illegal or legally fraught to try to either prevent the harm in the first place, or to stop it from continuing once it's started.
It's a thing that one average citizen can do to another that immediately removes a load of their legal rights and subordinates even their right to medical treatment, work, and survival, to a very strict set of conditions which treats them as less-than-human.
It can permanently change all sorts of things about a person, physically and mentally, in ways that are not just painful they're also disabling and many of them are permanent - And there is no way of predicting which ones will be permanent and which won't. And setting it in motion requires very little physical effort and can even be done accidentally.
