like the thing that’s an actual problem is that these benefits are dependent on marriage. that people need, as in the example above, healthcare and may not be able to afford it without insurance shared by a spouse (let alone the other rights only extended to those with a legal partnership)

This is like, one of the most normal recipes he’s done I think. Zucchini is an amazing substitute for eggs in brownies and cake

Zucchini/courgette is a fairly common ingredient in cakes (does the same basic function as carrots in carrot cake). Nigella has an excellent courgette sponge, which ends up with a slightly odd pale green tinge but is just awesome.

My favorite part was how walmart did that thing where they get a bunch of people to work a long part time shift, but just short enough to not be full time, thinking they could avoid giving employees healthcare. It turns out you can’t do that in Germany, so they had to give healthcare to way more employees than if they had just hired people to full time positions.
