So, it turns out mom has a special carton for her “irregular” eggs. The pale green one is just too big to fit in a regular carton, and it’s bumpy on one end. Doesn’t affect the egg as far as cooking or eating - it just looks weird, so mom says she won’t put it in with the other cartons she gives as gifts. Ever tried a century egg, otherwise known in chinese as "Pi Dan"? It's a Chinese delicacy! A reuglar egg is buried under clay for 30 days and a chemical reaction happens involving sodium (*insert magic here*). The whites turn into a brownish orange jello like texture and the yolk is a thick, pastey greenish grey.
