Are we gonna get a leak a day? Is that a thing now?
I was looking at different parts of the new poster from NYCC, and I noticed something strange about the MFE pilots.
Between Hunk and Kinkade, thereās another Garrison student grouped up with the MFE pilots. I wondered; why would a background character with no relevance to the plot be was standing with them?
Thatās when I realised this:Ā
Many people have speculated that the MFE pilots would become the next paladins of Voltron by the time the show ends.
There are only 4 MFE pilots. You need 5 people to pilot Voltron.
People have said that Veronica would fly a lion too, but sheās grouped away from the MFE pilots, as if sheās not fully associated with them. Veroncia is standing with Acxa, so perhaps Veronica groups up with her.
I believe that in S8, this background character will become important to the plot, and if the MFE pilots do become the next paladins, he will be one too.
IF Klance is canon~
Iām ready for subtle Klance development. I donāt think it would do injustice or be rushed in the last season, in fact it would not just answer my hopes but give me natural slow burn insight that would deeply satisfy my observations through out the series. Meaning those interactions werenāt for nothing and thatās satisfying enough for me. Plus it would be unique, some relationships donāt need a clear detailed explanation of romantic interest itās like one of those unnamed romances without calling it to be love.
I mean we were shown the close relationship between Lance and Keith, the improvements of Lance not having an equal and seeing Allura in hopes of romantic development in S4-S6 seems to have a purpose. Allura is in romance with Lotor, Lance develops a new doubt on himself. Considering this as a mirror to Lance and Keithās previous team partnership, Lance wasnāt just going to ignore his teammate. Especially when she was having low self esteem about trusting Lotor. Itās possible he accepted it was never going to be more than what he thought it would be. Between each other. Itās interesting he attempted to see Allura as his equal though, kind of a same process he developed with Keith over S1-S3.
So Keith returns and is leader again, itās obvious to assume Lance believes they are back to where things left off. However whatās even so more interesting is that his outlook on Allura and Keith has increased~
He sees them both as his equals and as people unreachable. With Keith being leader, Lance continues to look out for Allura which is what he did while Keith was gone, kinda like fallen into Keithās footsteps (you know, looking out for each other). At the same time, undoubtedly Keithās immediate righthand man. So heās on a balance~ but! They wouldnāt focus on the outlook of these 3 in The Journey Within for nothing or even have it as a focus in where their frustrations and anger fuel from in between each other. Lance sees the feud between two people that are important to him, one is Keith not understanding Alluraās own issues of S4-S6, so he hit him where it hurts with the fact Keith had done just as worse and was in no position to point out Allura the way he did. He kept him in check but with some salt. The fact Lance even brings up Keith being alone or running away twice is an obvious statement he took it personal. (I still hope we find out why)
If I get the chance of Klance in S8, Iām going to understand why itās slow burn and maybe last minute because there seems to be a build up for Lance balancing the importantance of two characters. One point being, Lance was never looking for a relationship to begin with but he gain some development over time towards Keith and Allura. This means that Keith and Allura come at Lance with romantic intentions. I mean we are shown how important Lance is to Keith and Allura in S7. Those are mainly the two who are desperately calling to him and having each otherās back.
Hereās a speculation:
Keith attempts to rebuilding his friendship with Lance just to be interacting again, I mean thatās how they were before he left so it would make sense.
Allura wanting to be closer with Lance more than before, possibly romantic because sheās seen the side of him she could love, or admire.
So with these speculations, you could imagine there being a conflict. Lance becoming confused of the two or Lance still feeling they are unreachable due to Alluraās helping with the Atlas and focus on alteans with Honerva, and then Keith working with BOM and possibly Acxa as well. Even though Kacxa was disconfirmed, she could give Lance a reason to believe he and Keith arenāt as close anymore.
OR
Keith notices the connection between Lance and Allura, chooses not to do anything about it but hints of some jealousy comes out. Mainly because it always happens throughout the series, it shows heās annoyed every time Lance flirts with Allura. Allura could be trying to connect with Lance but he may not allow this due to self respect in not wanting to be a rebound. Heās not that dumb.
Plus, if Lotor does return this could bring him to remind Allura why they never trusted him in the first place and what he did to the team. This could be a conflict between him and Allura causing a confession that he likes her but it goes in a terrible result or adds fuel to the fire. Then there is Keith who would probably try to be there for Lance but even that goes all bad due to Lance still being upset over the fact he left, so how could Keith understand what heās going through? Then we get a development of trying to reconcile between Lance and Keith, maybe Keith does understand, maybe he has seen Lance in a new way he never needed to figure out. Thus a miscommunication but now that heās grown, he wonāt leave Lance behind ever again~ so maybe this is the confusion he develops and seeks advice from Shiro about. Trying to figure out where he stands with Allura and Keith, since itās very confusing and bothering him.
This could give the conclusion where Lance figures out exactly what he needed over what he wanted. Unconditional love. By choosing Keith, he could come to terms with accepting and respecting Alluraās choice in romance. Or the platonic result, Lance letās go of Allura but Keith is there to console him as his friend. Then life goes on~
š¤ damn. I should write a fanfic about this š
Anyways, with my speculations about Klance I believe it to be subtle and not a main focus, but a build up for maybe a moment in one of the series final moments. Iām okay with that. In fact it would be essential because they would be a unique animated couple in history, not just because of lgbt rep but because it did not need a detailed explanation of their romantic development, it was natural and practically pure. Something unpredictable and one we can cherish for a long time because it was so different.
The outlook on story development and character buildup affects viewers in many different ways, ways beyond the writer or creators intended it to be. So donāt be frustrated with those who canāt see Klance happening or can see it happening. Just enjoy what weāre given and if we are given Klance, please just be satisfied with the outcome. If any creator built a story on what the viewers wanted, it would be predictable and boring knowing whatās to come. Many would love that because itās nothing done before in western animation, I beg to differ because it has been done. With Voltron, I admire their own storytelling style with their characters because thatās what brought me to enjoy the entire series. Heck Iāll be sad because there is nothing like Voltron out there and thatās why itās unique. Also, the way they developed a relationship like Klance is one to remember and cherish.
So thereās my rant for today. KICK everyone~
About that Altean at the end of S7...and Dynamite Voltron
Iāve been sitting on this one for awhile now, and it after giving it a lot of thought, it seems as though the identity of the Altean at the end of S7 might be informed by the pilot/commander of the āduplicate Voltronā from the Dynamite Voltron (DV) comic series.
Iāve avoided DV in the past because the first issue never grabbed me and I wasnāt into the art. I had heard that it was the most adult and the most dark of Voltron continuities, and as S3-S5 started becoming progressively darker I decided to give it a shot as VLD has pulled concepts from nearly every other Voltron continuity, and all thatās left now is Voltron Third Dimension (V:3rdD) and DV.
So I picked up the series a few months ago, and while I assumed that concepts from DV wouldnāt be touched because it was so dark, The Colony would have been right at home in that setting. After finally watching S7, I re-read DV and noted 7 similarities (including the Altean at end of S7) that Iām trying not to read too much into but...here we are.
#1. Keith gaining the ability to see-or-sense the unseenāespecially of the assassin/combatant kind:
Above:Ā VLD Keith sensing Macidus.
Above: DV Keith channeling newly-gained magic to reveal unseen assassins from the Third Sphere that have targeted him for getting too close to the truth behind Voltron.

GUUUUUYS IM ABOUT TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK!!
Is shiro wearing the blue armor? BECAUSE THAT BEHIND HIM IS MY GIRL BLUE!! WHAT DOES THIS MEANS?! DO WE HAVE ANOTHER BLUE PALADIN?!? Im so confused ššššš
ARE WE GONNA HAVE A BLACK PALADIN LANCE?!?
@brokengem @sunshine-in-a-petal @coran-the-gorgeous-disaster
black paladin lance foreshadowing?
I donāt know if somebody already theorized what Iām going to show you, but personally I just noticed it and I wanna know what do you guys think. Do yāall remember when Allura assigned Keith the red lion, and in the frame Lance was there too? It was clearly a foreshadowing of him becoming a red paladin.
Well, also in the scene where it was decided that Shiro wouldāve been the black paladin there was one, since he was next to Keith⦠but if you pay attention, Lance was also present.
Even for just a fight, Lance will probably pilot the black lion. It would be a key part for his arc, maybe the concluding one, and this would finally make him understand that he isnāt the 7th wheel.
Alright guys, so I watched Season 6 of Voltron and I am so satisfied with everything like?? It's hard to explain. Anyway, before you start reading my speculation post, this will include spoilers from Season 6.
With that said, let me get to it.
Anyway, if you would have watched Season 6, you would have found out that the Shiro starting from season... 3? 4? Was a clone like nearly everybody was speculating. I know everybody knows this now, but I wanted this out anyway because it was interesting.
So, you know the episode Monsters and Mana? AKA that episode where the paladins(with the exception of Keith of course) and Koran sit down to play a roleplaying game? Well when you watch that episode, you kind of get an interesting glimpse at "Shiro's" behavior. His character(I forgot his name, I think it's still Shiro) dies two to three times, and everytime he does, Shiro keeps respawning as the same character and the same class; A paladin. Where am I going with this?
Well, sometime while they are playing, Koran tells Shiro that he could be whatever class he wanted. Shiro remains persistant however, and says something along the lines of "I don't know what could be more rewarding than being a paladin."
Now of course, if this was regular Shiro, maybe he would have said the same thing! But it just struck me a bit. We know now that the Shiro here is obviously not the actual Shiro. What if he said that because that was what he was programmed to believe or say? Programmed to believe that being a paladin was the only thing he was capable of and the only thing that gave him meaning?
I'm probably overthinking this but... you know, just thought it was interesting. ^^"
