YOU command. and they can kill you.#a lion of voltron is something wild and something inherently dependent on you. it is a wild beast and an incomprehesible being.#it loves you but it also loved someone before you. someone absolutely vile and horrible. can you really trust it?#did it choose well this time?#i have this kinda stupid drawing idea. of the black lion holding kuron by the neck like dead prey in a night trail cam ligting. it might be #a bit too out there tbh. depends on how id execute it honestly but idk. i keep coming back to it #the lion cannot exist without the paladin and it has no purpose outside of being a part of a bigger whole.#the lion has to trust that you will pilot it well and you have to trust it not to let you die.#i always found it kinda disturbing how most of the time the lions dont rlly do much until someone pilots them. do they have full control of #themselves? do they need a paladin to move for more than short bursts? are they trapped in bodies that are too heavy and too dead to move o #their own? do they even care? do they long for something more? or is this all they will ever know.#the existance of a lion of voltron sounds like agony.

The idea for this came to me when i was wondering: what if not only Zarkon was unwilling to let go of Black but it went the other way, too? And what are her connections to her Paladins like? Because wow, Black has nothing but messy Paladin situations. Every single one of them.
