A ping from the computer saved Lance from one of the most uncomfortable conversations of his life. He didn't expect that the castle database would actually uncover anything – he meant, it wasn't possible that it had the DNA of all their enemies and allies, come on, they weren't in a movie – but fate would have it that that particular DNA was already in the database from the beginning.

"You gotta be kidding me," he said, not knowing if it was a huge cosmic joke or not.

"Well... at least now we're sure we won't have to worry about any surprise attack," Hunk tried to say, trying to be reassuring, but failing across the board.

For once, Pidge didn't comment, frowning thoughtfully.

On the screen, the name KEITH KOGANE was written in large letters.

Society fucking sucks. You cannot meaningfully punish the people who make society suck, the ones with real power. But you want to see something bleed for how much the world sucks and hey, that guy over there who has an audience is marginally successful and marginally influential (not in any material way. They just have followers on Twitter.) but you can hit them and make them bleed, which you couldn’t for the people who actually make your life suck.

So you constantly hammer on them for any mistake or fuckup you can find, no matter how far back, because it gives you some kind of feeling of control over how much life sucks and how little it’s helping.
