i've never been so ready for a semester to be over ahhhhhhhh in 14 hours it'll all be done i'll be free

#i'm still scared for statistical physics i've had way less time to revise than for pretty much every other exam ever #forcing myself to be okay with it however it goes #it's going to go anyway!!! i'll pass. and even if i don't do as well as i hoped at least everything else has gone pretty well #it is not that deep. it's not that important. we move on no matter how it goes....... repeating this until i believe it AGHHH #theoryblr #cem speaks

it's violently raining right now, and i'm sitting wrapped in a blanket studying statistical physics (i have the window open so i can hear the rain noises.... it may be my fault i'm cold, but where did summer go???)

i cannot believe i'm nearly done with 3rd year!!! i'm pretty excited for it to be over, it's been the hardest year of uni by a lot, and i haven't had the best time. but lots of good things have happened too, my exams have been going well despite the lack of time i've had to study, and i'm looking forward to having a break, doing more summer research, and getting to my final year!

are you applying to grad school next year? If so, what theory subfield are you interested in?

yes, pretty much! i'm in the uk, so that will mean applying for phds, which i'll be doing around the end of this year!!!! i can't believe it's so soon and i've nearly done 3 years of uni already? :0

at this point, i've basically decided on doing some kind of quantum theory. i've had a go at some quantum metrology research already (and i'm going to do more for my master's project!!) and really enjoyed that. i'm also getting some quantum foundations research experience this summer! so i haven't really decided on a specific area of quantum theory yet, but i'll have to make up my mind fairly soon!

#*technically* i have an (unofficial) phd offer from my last year summer research project supervisor/next year master's project supervisor!#which absolutely blows my mind every time i remember..... i definitely enjoy the subject plus i think my supervisor is the absolute best #so even if i end up getting other offers who knows?? much to think about i'm pretty excited!!!#theoryblr #cem speaks #answered #thank you for the question btw!!! i do love thinking about my possible future in physics since it's actually starting to feel real!#if you're also applying for grad school/etc good luck!!!!! we've got this!! okay mathematical physics tomorrow i have to do so well for this one. it's my Thing i need to be one with the linear algebra for the rest of my (hopefully quantum filled) career and it allllll starts here. yay matrices!!!!!!!

aaaaaand update! linear algebra is my best friend & i may possibly have got 100% on that section <3 complex analysis on the other hand...... could've been better could've been worse. overall good!
