Believing in socialist ideology means drawing the conclusion that the working class can and must overthrow capitalism, and that a revolutionary leadership is required to ensure that the coming revolution succeeds in ending the rule of the bourgeoisie.
This is the most urgent, pressing concern for humanity. This summer will likely be the hottest on record. For the last few years we’ve been choking on wildfire smoke. This summer at least 20,000 people have died in the European heatwave, and in the countries dominated by imperialism that number is almost certainly higher. The body count from imperialist war, genocide, starvation, preventable disease, and failed or nonexistent infrastructure is increasing every second. These are all avoidable atrocities, yet capitalist society, the anarchy of the market, and the need for increasing profits makes them inevitable under capitalism.
As socialists we are not doomers, though; we understand that class society inevitably produces social unrest, class conflict, and eventually revolution. But we have a responsibility!
We owe it to our working class brethren around the world to fight tooth and nail for the coming socialist transformation of society. If we already understand that class society is the fundamental ill of our continued existence on this planet, then it would be the most vile hypocrisy to not get organized to fight it.
If what is required is revolution, then the highest moral imperative for us is to use our knowledge to make clear the common interests of the working class as against the capitalists. We must in everything we do build the greatest, most unshakeable unity of the proletariat. And we must inspire the proletariat with confidence in their own methods of struggle, completely independent from poisonous treachery of the ruling class.
My point is this: if you say you’re a communist, but you are isolated and unorganized, you are not yet fully a communist. Communists play a role as the revolutionary vanguard of the working class.
The international party that lives and breathes this class struggle is the Revolutionary Communist International. We have sections and groups across the world, on every continent. We are growing, and our members are constantly gaining experience through intervening in mass movements, through leading local discussions, and much more.
Our deep commitment to Marxist education fuels all of our activity, keeps our morale high even in tough times, and keeps us oriented on the correct tactical and strategic course. By educating ourselves in a vibrant culture of study and discussion, we are able to communicate our ideas to workers we meet at protests and picket lines and on the job, and we are constantly winning over fresh layers of serious, dedicated revolutionaries.
So this is not a nebulous call to join just any old group. Join the RCI! Take the leap and dedicate yourself to the victory of the coming revolution!
