Just successfully defended my thesis. I now (still somewhat un)officially have a PhD!
Screaming crying jumping up and down with excitement because other people have articulated a shortcoming in scholarship (20th century European/decolonization lit especially) that I’d been struggling to frame. Yes I WILL be dragging “multiple modernities” into any conversation I can, maybe it’s reasonable that “(neo-)liberal capitalist western” ideals are not… everyone’s ideals?
