Theonoe: this is my girlfriend Helen and her husband Menelaus and his boyfriend Odysseus and his wife Penelope
"Helen" by Euripedes is so damn peak, send post. Not only do I love Helen here but there is so much comedy, so much wit and is such a good read, it has some commentary as well that i really liked plus the Dioscuri show up!
@laiapolypharmakos Muchas gracias por recomendármela, estimadísima amiga mía.

Now I wonder if Phineus (if he ever featured in Euripides Andromeda) had similar characterization to Theoclymenus, being the antagonistic force who views the woman who rejected him as his property. Perhaps Cepheus (and to some extent Cassiopeia) occupied the same role as Theonoe, being the sibling of the antagonist and being hesitant to help the heroine of the story escape with the one she actually loves.
Ofc these 6 days before New Year is hectic as fuck 😭 sorry for being ia!!
In the meanwhile I’ve been thinking about Theonoe (daughter of Egyptian king Proteus) and her relationship with Helen, how she basically committed treason against her own brother all because she respected Helen’s decision to refuse his attempts of proposal. Which is pretty cool
(And a bit gay)
