Many kinds of power imbalances in Greek mythology will mean you cannot obtain consent
whether this is an issue of mortality or social statue or freedom
the war prizes cannot consent to the kings, nor can enslaved women like melantho to the suitors (even if they say yes, the question is can you safely say no?). Mortals cannot consent to gods (can you refuse apollos advances and not get killed? Or cursed?).
I’m not saying don’t ship (or that I don’t) but the power imbalances would dictate a whole lot more than I see anyone talking about.
Yes precisely, I do believe people themselves should choose what they are and aren’t comfortable with when it comes to shipping in this fandom and block accordingly. No morality checking just because you don’t share the same interpretation as someone else. Just have fun and don’t harass people.
