#the shift

It's rarely dramatic. It's not usually a sign or a revelation or a dream that explains everything. It's more like... one day you notice you're not as scared as you used to be. Or you catch yourself wanting something without immediately talking yourself out of it. Or something that used to hurt just... doesn't, quite as much.

That's the shift. That quiet, undramatic, easily-missed thing.

The problem is we've been taught to expect transformation to announce itself. To arrive with proof. So when it comes the way it actually comes - gently, gradually, almost accidentally - we don't trust it. We keep waiting for the real thing.

This is the real thing.

So THE SHIFT has been my biggest block so far in motivation to continue this project. Having to redo the Fraymotifs I've already done before I can do new ones is not only a completely arbitrary obstacle, but also it is sapping all of my thought energy and just making me feel slogged down every time i look at the askbox. So, because I know I haven't done a damn thing about THE SHIFT since i put it in place 5 billion months ago, I'm just. not going to. At least for now, I definitely will come back to it eventually and a THE SHIFT post will be treated like a cool throwback remaster of my earliest Fraymotifs, which will be nice in the future when it eventually definitely happens.

Speaking of the askbox, instead of handling things chronologically to when I receive them, I'm changing how I handle it. The key aspect (roll credits) to doing these is actually taking the time to write them out and detail them and come up with all the cool references and such, which if you have ADHD like I do is a real killer, so going forward, I'm going to answer the ones I get that I think will be the most fun and interesting first. Listen. Listen to me. Grabbing you tenderly yet firmly by the shoulders. I will still do all 9504 2-player Fraymotifs. I will still do your requests. Eventually. So if you've got a request sitting in my inbox, it will still happen! It just might not happen right away, which if you think about it, is better than it not happening at all like it is now.

Oh, that reminds me, the specific weapons don't matter for my generalized Fraymotifs. So If you've specifed which weapons your heroes use in your requests, I won't be taking them into account.

Also the queue, there's absolutely no way that I'll be making up Fraymotifs faster than they come in and faster than the queue would post them. So I'll just be posting them whenever. Which again will be faster than the not posting them ever like I've been.
