OKAY HEAR ME OUT DONT THROW THE TOMATOES YET

Okay so to preface, Im not defending Jax. I think some of her hate is valid and while I do still somewhat enjoy the character, I dont have a fully positive outlook on her. That is my bias of this to get this out of the way.

Anyways. I've seen many, many, MANY, people (mostly on Facebook, so its probably my fault for looking) say that she isnt good trans rep, that they wished it wasnt there and they just gave it to zooble. And I agree with it somewhat. I do wish they focused more on the others, Zooble in particular because they are in my top three and they felt neglected (but that's a whole other post). But what i dont agree with is that they dont think it should be there. I see them as two sides of the same coin, the good ending and bad ending persay (tysm for the idea rando on Facebook in the glitch group).

Jax is a bad person. We know and understand that, that is the page number were on. But, that doesnt mean that she shouldn't be Trans. Bad Trans rep is when being Trans is fetishize or not treated with a good amount of respect when covering it in detail. TADC does not have bad Trans rep. They treat it with genuine seriousness and do not dismiss or use it for disrespectful jokes. Being Trans doesn't determine whether a character is good or bad. Its like how you have a villain and villainess. Their gender doesn't determine the fact that theyre the antagonist, its just a part of their character. Same thing for being Trans. Good Trans rep isnt dependant on if the character is righteous or evil or if theyre Trans fem or Trans masc (I've seen soooo many people talk about how if Jax was going to be bad they should've made her a Trans man instead, so im mentioning it just incase). Someone's gender is their own, being a man doesn't make you inherently bad, just like being a woman doesn't make you inherently good. Its your actions, not your gender, sexuality, etc.

...To be clear, I like tadc. I do. But the way people adamantly and super agressively defend the creators is kinda ick. Like whatever, can we just acceot they are not innocent baby beans unable to do any harm? I met a big tadc fan in real life who was queer and nonbinary and all that and we got along absolutely great till they asked me if they could name me the N wird for their contacts as we were exchanging them. As a completely white person. And it came out that yes they actually do throw around this word with their friends fully because it's funny. In their opinion they are not racist because they don't wish all black people to die or whatever. What does this have to do with tadc creators? Well the fact that they also did find it really funny at least in the past and Gooseworx's eventual reply to the whole thing was "if you seriously think I want black people to die, you should shoot yourself in the head" or whatever — it does support these kinda fans a lot, who are this way, CURRENTLY. And un-fucking fortunately, tge rest of us gotta deal with that bullshit.

Is gooseworx a trans woman, so apart of a very vulnerable minority? Yes. Is she still able to have internalized racism? Fuck yeah she can. Even black people can have internalized racism towards black people. Is gooseworx also not the one who made the joke or was giggling at it? No, she wasn't. Do I wanna join some anti-gooseworx, goosewirx hate club? No. Is it weird that people are directing their critique only towards goose and not the whole team? Yeah.

Am I sick of hearing people upset over learning this fact about the team are "sensitive" and "illeterate" and "stupid" nd whatever the fuck because "THAT WAS YEARS AGO AND YOU'RE JUST HATING ON A TRANS WOMAN AND DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW TO READ?? SHE SAID SHE DOESN'T WANT BLACK PEOPLE TO DIE AND PPL WHO THINK THAT SHOULD KILL THEMSELVES"? Fuck yes. Stop giving people you don't know a fucking rimjob because they are not the worst white people they could be.
