"A puppy, 2 kids and no idea." -A journey to upside down, in down under.
Eva had no idea, when she boarded the airplane from Frankfurt to Perth, almost 17 years ago, that she would find herself in a small 2 bedroom apartment, with her two kids alone, considering to take on a puppy.
Why she believed that a dog is better than any therapist or man, is anyone's guess.
4 months ago, she said goodbye to her anxiety medication, after having walked out a couple of months prior, from the shared martial home.
But, when she deeply looked within herself, she knew that she was craving true unconditional love and loyalty, the kind her parents, or her ex partner's-never gave her.
Her heart was big and had lots of love to give but to invite another human soul in it, was simply out of question.
Eva had always dreamt, of coming home, and being greeted by joy and happiness.
Love and warmth greeting her, yet only finding, that her existence was met as a nuisance, that one has had to endure.
She had always forced herself to be the most likeable person, as her circumstances would allow.
Yet, she always ended up coming full circle, to be confronted with lonliness.
She had rushed from one relationship to another, to fill a gap, she knew only she could fill.
That's why Eva wanted to focus her nurturing on raising a puppy, rather than a man, who would trow her a bone every so often, not expecting that one day, she wouldn't return it back to him.
Amongst everything else that happened globally, she knew that in times of self isolation, where distraction and focussing on cultivating life and cherishing it, was necessary- this was the time for inviting a loyal and grateful friend, into her heart.
Her children, Amélie and Arlo- could certainly do, with some cheering up, since their mum, found it easier to escape into other worlds through a constant stream of audiobooks, on her noise cancelling headphones.
Their father, wasn't and had never been in a place to give them the love and support, their innocent and young hearts craved.
They all needed something to remind themselves of being in the present moment, since it felt far easier to escape it.
Something, that could focus all of their attention into the same present moment.
Eva also wanted her children to grow big hearts, that cherished all life, whether human or animal.
Since, it was the pets in her own family homes, that had always been her only true best friends.
They never had an agenda and they had always accepted her, just the way she was.
