Our family is going on vacation and we are bringing our nanny. Our nanny asked if she could bring a friend. This friend would be paying their own way, including their own hotel room. Is this something that you think is acceptable?
I don't think it is acceptable or appropriate for your nanny to bring a friend along. The first reason is that this is a work trip for the nanny, not a vacation trip, and the nanny will automatically see their role as more casual versus a work trip. In addition, your nanny isn't going to be near as focused with their friend on this trip with them.

We had a full-time nanny for one year who left to work for a different family for a higher salary. She told us that she would like to come back as working for this family is extremely demanding and felt the environment was negative. We haven't hired anyone new yet. Should we take her back?
It may seem tempting because you haven't found anyone new yet and there is a familiarity with her, but my advice would be to move on. You may be nervous that she will leave again, but the real reason you and this nanny should part ways is because she isn't fully happy with her job working for your family and that is why she left. If she isn't satisfied with her salary, then she isn't fully committed to her nanny job with your family. I would recommend either matching the salary she was getting or hiring a new nanny.

This is my first fanfic on this app ( I am sorry if it’s bad but I promise to get better overtime, plus English isn’t my first language <3 )
I plan to do many short fanfictions who each have between 5 and 10 chapters. Most of them are going to be about call of duty with Ghost mainly. I forgot to say that they are going to be gender neutral so everyone can read them.
If you have any ideas or requests, you can send me a request on this app or TikTok! ( name in my bio ). Love you guys <3
Fanfiction 1: Single parent user x Grumpy Boss Ghost.
Chapter 1: The Cycle
It has been now a few months since you were on your own with your litle kid, Kali. She has been such a calm kid after the departure of your partner. You were now a single parent, trying to handle things on your own, Sometimes, it was hard, you fell like you were fighting everything against the world by being on your own, but seeing you child smiled was the most precious moment in the day. She was like a little ray of sunshine among this grey world.
Since you were the only adult to take care of her, you had to find a babysitter. Everything was good so far even if Kali whined from time to time because she missed you a lot. At least, even in your disfortune, you had a job that didn't ask for a lot of hours. Of course, it was the classical work's office but there was no need to ask for more. It paid well and your colleagues were nice, what more could you ask for?
Lately at work, things become more and more complicate. Your boss is really demanding and asks everyone to do more work. So it means that you start to stay more at the office after your usual hours, the babysitter asks for more money, a really bad cycle begins to take place. But what could you do? You need to gain money for your family and it isn't like you could bring your child to your job or you would get fired.
At least, once you are home, you hear her calling.
« Mommy/Daddy ! »
Like always, you have barely a few seconds before picking her up since she is running towards you. Everday is the same routine, you would go home, thanks the babysitter, made dinner and get her to bed. Deep down, you wish for things to be different, to hang out more at the park with your daughter or even for a few days to another country and discovering new landscapes. On the contrary, you are stuck in this small apartment because you have not enough money to have a house. Sometimes at night, tears are running down your cheeks, hoping for a better future, one that you feel not like struggling.
In this moment, you tell yourself that it has been a while since you are fighting and that you couldn't give up now. You have to keep up for your kid that never ask to have this kind of situation.
The day after, you go to the office and greet your colleagues like any other day, until you bump into someone. The person let you of an annoyed sigh and tells you.
« Watch where you are walking. »
And he leaves without even looking back. A bit startled, you try to see who it is since you never hear that voice before. One colleague that is near you, starts to laugh at you. When you begin to frown, the woman point your shirt and you see that you spill your coffee on your clothes.
Well, what a great day.
Time went on and you don't see hours flying until it is finally lunch time. So you go to join others in the big cafeteria. Like any other day, you are waiting in the queue and hear someone say that there is probably going to have a new boss in the company. A bit curious, you try to hear the rest but the two people leave to a table.
So that's it? A new boss? You wonder how he looks like and if he is any better than the actual one.

I got home a few hours early from work and noticed my children, ages 5 and 7, with our nanny outside. My nanny seemed distracted and very engaged with her phone. I don't know if she is more interested in her phone than playing with my children or if this was a one-off incident. How do I go about discussing this with her?
The first course of action is speaking to your children after your nanny leaves. You'll want to make a statement to your children letting them know that telling you the truth isn't getting the nanny in trouble. The next step is asking them if the nanny is on her phone a lot. You'll want to use the nanny's name. If the answer is yes, have a conversation with your nanny the next time you see her.
The first statement you say to your nanny is, my children and I really like you as their nanny. I noticed when I came home early yesterday that you were engaged with your phone instead of playing with the kids. Wait for her to say something next or speak up before saying anything else. The most likely thing that will happen next is an explanation or excuse as to why she was on her phone. Lastly, you'll want to address your nanny directly by saying, my children feel like you are family and I expect that the nanny we have makes playing with them a consistent standard over their phone. If that standard is a mismatch for your life, we can discuss arrangements about parting ways. Is that standard a match for you as a nanny? If the answer is a no, you will now know that you need to search for a new nanny. If the answer is a yes, this should address and resolve their behavior moving forward.

My husband and I have had a wonderful full-time nanny for the past two years, but the last month we've noticed a change. She's been late three times, and she's never late. In addition, she doesn't seem as happy to play and engage with our children. What should I do, or how do I go about having a conversation with our nanny?
To receive the clarity that you are looking for, you will want to ask two questions: are you still interested in this job and are you looking for another job? More than likely, this will naturally bring about answers to this issue in order for you to have clarity and make a decision that may be needed.

We've had a part-time nanny for the past year that we really like. My husband got a new job, and it requires us to have a nanny drive, which currently she isn't driving, and also the schedule would change. How would I go about handling the situation and having a conversation with our current nanny?
Most families are going to ask, can you follow the new schedule and are you willing to drive? The two most fitting questions to see if the current nanny will still be reliable are: will you still enjoy the job and is there anything that would prevent you or stop you from being able to drive and adapt to the schedule change? If you receive a yes to the first question and a no to the second question, then there isn't a pressing need to worry about finding a new nanny. If you get a no, or I don't think so to the first question and a yes to the second question, then you will need to start looking for a new nanny. Protocol on handling staff changes depends on how long it takes you to find a new nanny. If it takes you two weeks or longer to find a new nanny, then no involuntary termination pay is to be considered or required.
