Growing up there were always these adults gauging how 'modern' girls have become but as I moved to the city where everyone around my age were 'modern', the misogynistic pushback was constant. They were even using 'modern' ways to be more misogynistic. Turns out they want to reserve the 'modernity' only for the boys, which explains how progress is slow for the women class be it financial, scientific, electronic etc. But patriarchy has coined 'progress' for women based on how provocative they want their female celebrities; not in a body positive sentiment, but in a male consumption sentiment, increasing each next year.
I was surprised to know in 'developed' countries, there were far less women in STEM because the economic need in their households isn't very demanding so, like every child in a developing country, they aren't pressured into getting a high paying, high status job. Thus, like everything with lower priority, but still vital, it gets male gendered.
I also just watched a fairly young breadtuber, who was in an undergraduate, talk about how the average high in STEM are scored by male students unlike in Arts so this must be a gendered thing, which is why general disregard towards Arts is misogyny and I'm like... why did she make THAT assumption whereas in any subject you need diligence and practice, which can be done by both 'pink' and 'blue' brains alike.. And yes, she was a 'developed' countrian.
