[At a random moment you weren’t expecting, you started hearing metallic taps hitting the ground repeatedly — “tap-tap-tap” When you looked toward the source of the sound, you saw a drone trying to walk around. You’re pretty sure it was supposed to be flying instead of moving like that; its turbines are definitely out of power.

The viewers connected to the camera on the drone’s head seem to be offline, so it’s on its own and completely alone. Where does it want to go? Does it need a place to recharge? Is it trying to find the others but struggling? What could possibly happen?]

Donnie isn't quite sure what's happened to the little bot, but he's for sure going to find out! And having a bit of experience with Alternate Dimensions already, he knows there's only one turtle with the brains to make a bot like this one! But first he's gonna get him fixed up and energized! What or who will they encounter on their way?

ask box is ALWAYS open!!! i just take a bit to respond sometimes sdjkfnksjdnf but tysm for asking abt my au!! ive been a little quiet about it but im enthused to finally try and explain it a little :D

so the short answer is: about a month before the movie takes place, Leo has a bighuge blowout fight with Raph, finds out about the Foot Clan's plans to release the Kraang and cause the apocalypse, and decides to go on a solo mission to retrieve the key and find a way to destroy it-- without telling anybody. Along the way he runs into and begins to travel with Hypno and Warren (on their honeymoon) and then Cassandra (searching for her two friends who mysteriously disappeared very recently), while the Mad Dogs at home frantically try to connect the dots and figure out where Leo went, why, and what hes been hiding from them all along

thats the tldr; im slowly writing this as a fic, so i dont want to give TOO much about the plot away, but i can give u a few more deets:

The night Leo discovers what the Foot Clan's up to is the night he and Raph fight

The fight is so bad it fundamentally destabilizes Leo's already shaky sense of belonging within his family, leading directly to his solo mission

(Raph does apologize to him later, but Leo is not around to hear it)

That same night is also when one of Leo's katanas melts during a confrontation with the Foot Clan, which is why he has the tantō shown in @jade-of-mourning's absolutely STUNNING fanart you linked in this ask (THANK YOU LYCHEE ILYSM LYCHEE). he picks it up a bit later in the story, after he leaves NYC

Something's Wrong: Raph's POV...

Out of the three brothers, Raph's the one to notice something was up first. And, unfortunately, it was only because he ended up in a situation Leo wasn't used to and briefly caught glimpses of those walls being down. He only saw this "sad look" a handful of times for the first few days of his grounding before Leo was more accustomed to having a running partner again. (Raph was forbidden from flying for two weeks, as per "doctor's" orders.)

He didn't know what was wrong, exactly, and Leo definitely talked circles around him if he ever got the opportunity to ask, but still. It put Raph on high alert.
