Soooo what if after her mutation, Harley’s hair just naturally started turning grey? 👀
(Also color ref for her fox form if y’all ever wanna draw her 👀)
Brown hair version! Which one do you guys like best? ^w^
In case some of yall were confused about how much of a slowburn Harley and Leo are:
We are 9 chapters into the Fleeting Fanfiction and they haven't even SPOKEN TO EACHOTHER or met face to face yet. Nor will they for two more chapters.
Chapter 8 is up!!! (Finally)
Fleeting - Chapter 8 - Mo_Nebula - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TV 2003) [Archive of Our Own]
There are only two people in the family that can beat Splinter at Poker.
And it’s April and Harley.
Because they have immaculate poker faces. Never let you know what they’re thinking, and they’re just clever.
April is the confident cool, never let you know what they’re thinking type.
Harley is a sore loser, and so even if she has a decent hand she will openly act like she’s not doing well or thinks she’s gonna lose and acts discouraged. And everyone feels bad for her, until she lays down a Royal Flush. Her grin is the definition of wicked. And yet they all fall for it EVERY TIME.
Leo could win in he LOCKED in. But he’s so freaking honest and playing against his sensei stresses him out lowkey. Splinter can always tell.
Mikey can’t keep his poker face straight to save his life if he’s got a good hand and it makes him call too confidently too early.
Donnie is strategic and can usually win the first round and then bows out because he doesn’t wanna risking losing more. So once he’s made a little extra or broke even for a round he bails.
Raph and Casey are hopeless, they can’t maintain a poker face to save either of their lives and they have terrible luck.

I could imagine in the 90s version Harley bringing Leo food while he's watching Raph. Nothing happens but she's definitely hit with how serious and sad he looks watching over his brother(maybe develops a crush she doesn't realize she has) my main thing though with her and mikey being friends and them constantly watching Casey and his epic fails at flirting with April. The both giggle and watch with snacks like its a daytime soap opera.
When they have to go back, again Casey tries to get her to go home but she digs her heels in. So she's the one that makes fun comments about Casey having claustrophobia with Donnie. Even mentioning stories from when he was a kid.
@darkcrowprincess
Oh absolutely! I think it would concern her for those days of h ow constant a vigil he's keeping over Raph. She'd ask Mikey and Donnie if it's normal for him not to take any sort of break. And they'd probably say something like 'Yeah.. when he gets really focused on something it's really hard to shake him off of it.' And that would probably just worry her more. So she'd probably find herself taking his food up to him, checking on him the way April is shown to do in the movie, and maybe even just hanging out and chatting with him so he doesn't get too caught up in his own thoughts. Their relationship is so slow burn I doubt it's something that would develop over the course of the first movie~ But if she had been a character present in the film in that way, I could see folks shipping them~ teehee Her friendship with Mikey would be so fun though, like-- true country kid chaos. Running around with sticks, looking at bugs and snakes and taking bets on who can climb a tree faster. At first, it's just Mikey trying to distract himself by bothering her. But then it becomes genuinely like... she's letting him use her as a distraction and is actively participating in just trying to help him have a good time. Harley would 100% tease Casey about his claustrophobia like without hesitation. Another thing to note though, is the other teenager in the movie-- Danny! I like to think they go to school together and do NOT get along. Particularly after the whole thing and him being in their lair after they get back. Harley knows about the Foot taking in kids her age and wants NONE of that mess, so she'd be immediately suspicious about how he knew what was down here. I imagine a scene where she actually ends up pinning him to the floor and fighting him because he tries taking the Leo drawing that April made, and Harley doesn't want him to have it. >w<
Thinking about your oc that's suppose to be a cousin to casey. I'm thinking about them arguing like cousins who are a lot like siblings because they played a lot as children. Also thinking about the 90s movie. Thinking about how your oc would fit into that and go with casey to help the turtles 🐢
@darkcrowprincess
Oh!! this is a great one and not something I get to talk about a lot! I do have a doodle of them as kids tho.
In the first chapter of Fleeting it describes sort of the dynamic they develop as children, and how that dynamic eventually breaks down into estrangement over the years and as their circumstances and the losses they suffer shape them, and how they deal with that truama, and how that trauma affects them/how they engage with other people, especially the two of them. When we first encounter Harley in the story, from the outside perspective of Splinter we observe a clearly strained and hostile relationship between Harley and Casey-- that does kindof show itself to be tentatively sibling-like, with some serious hurt feelings not being addressed. In the 90s movies! The vibe is very different! Because the Jones' don't own the farmhouse, April does! In that series however-- Harley does not have any other family except for Casey, and so despite maybe not being the most exemplary role model for a ward-- he has sole guardianship of her. It's a little like... the dynamic between Carly and Spencer from iCarly, where the older brother figure seems somewhat irresponsible while the younger sibling appears more mature.
They have a much closer relationship in the 90s iteration since Casey does take the role of 'big brother' and is legally her guardian, even if he isn't always the most reliable 'parent'. I would think that after the whole ambush at April's shop, Casey would need to stop by his place to pick up a few things and let Harley know he's gonna be out of town for a bit, in which she demands to know where the hell he's going, and April goes in to try and smooth things over and pretend it's like a 'couple's getaway' thing, and Harley is having absolutely none of it. 'The NEWS LADY? HOW? Did he blackmail you? You can do better, I promise.' She's also just kinda nosy and wants to know where he's going and why, and what she's supposed to do while he's gone. I think it's something like two weeks??? Anyway, through some meddling and Mikey and Donnie also being nosy, they climb the fire escape to eavesdrop on the arguing up in the apartment and Harley catches sight of them and then the turtle's out of the bag at that point. So she tags along. Her and Mikey end up becoming fast friends??? I suppose it's friends, he enjoys riling her up and she gets riled pretty easily in this iteration and so Mikey makes Harley is personal teasing target as a way to sort of distract himself and vent in the wake of... yknow, everything. Harley knows he's messing with her, she more or less plays along with it. I don't think i'd foresee anything romantic with Harley and Leo in this iteration, mostly because I haven't really thought too much about this iteration since I tend to stick to the animated ones~ But she'd get along pretty well with Leonardo in general since she's studious and considerate.
Okay but what if I grab Harleo and turned them into dough and then bread
Do it you coward. /silly
