My kiddo is familiar with Doc Ock from this newer wave of Spiderman, specifically Spidey and His Amazing Friends. Where Doc Ock is a woman.
But then he sees Doc Ock from older media, and the villain is a man. So we had a brief talk one night about how Doc Ock was a man in some versions but is now a woman. Kind of like my cousin who used to be a girl and is a boy now.

Inspired by the year one artstyle but it kinda is eh in that aspect but whtvr I like this
My daughter is complete. I love her and will never make another because that was a lot of work.
Making the doll was the first and easiest part. I used wren cotton yarn and 4 seasons marvel cotton yarn. I made 4 dolls with different colour combos and to try different colour change techniques to get the cleanest look. The pattern is by SweetSoftiesCo on Etsy, slightly altered to give her proportions the look I wanted. I also surface crocheted the ribbing on her top.
I've never done a face like this before, but it was pretty easy. Had to make her smirk.
The hair was simple but time consuming. Latchhooked two rows around her hair line, unravelled each strand, added individual strands of purple, then twisted and sewed it to her head.
The accessories were the hardest part. I had to get a finer crochet cotton to make the belt using a 1.25mm hook, and then sewed on some beads.
There were several different attempts at the tentacles and the goggles experimenting with different materials and techniques. I ended up making the goggles from a plastic mountain dew bottle and rubber glued together and attached to her head with wire.
The tentacles are wire, beads and felt that I embroidered to give it a ribbed look (and to hold the wire in place so the claws can be opened and closed).
Despite giving her a backbone her giant octopus head was too heavy for her neck to support so I also had to build a stand for her from wood and wire.
I love her so much but if I ever make dolls again I'm going bigger cos those 4 stitch round rows in the arms drove me nuts.
