This is a story that follows along rather closely with the 2003 canon with one distinct difference. The addition of another character who's very existence seemingly changes very little, yet as the story unfolds starts to challenge the idea of Fate. Is everything just meant to unfold as it was already foretold? What does destiny even mean to someone who wasn't even supposed to exist in the first place?

‘What if you dreamt of someone else’s life?’

A constant sense of familiarity with people you barely know yet can’t help but adore. Knowing that somehow their presence and their words and their voices soothe something deep in your heart but you can’t explain why. Even after they become your friends you always feel like you’re on the outside looking in just a little. Even though it’s your life, and your world and your people— there’s something inside you that feels different and detached. Even as you laugh with them. Even as you love them. Even as you live alongside them.

Is this life really yours?…. And do you have the right to live it?

I have tried so hard to move past it & enjoy my own little story building around with these characters BUT EVERYWHERE I TURN EVERYONE & THEIR MOTHERS ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT WHATEVER THEY ASKED FROM THEIR OWN HEADCANONS/FANCANONS!

But truly 100% agree with you because we could’ve had SUCH A GREATER TIME had people asked about the show/movie & what more they could’ve done for the show & what could’ve been had they had the chance to continue it (I was so looking forward to that part!) but yet everyone just spammed them about their own stuff so I can definitely understand your frustrations towards the livestream!

I just hope that if there’s a majority of people that feel this way aren’t turned away by it & continue their own creative processes without the pressures of what had happened with the livestream 🥺

I cannot tell you how much this warms my heart to see this. That I have already gotten such an outpour of agreement about this particular thing already from friends and other blogs in the community but it genuinely means the world to me that folks have that outlet and found it in my post. Thank you so so much. Because I DO think that this is a problem indicative of a much bigger conversation, but that can't ever be addressed if we don't start small. Start with very real and recent examples. We, as Rise fans, do NOT get a lot of new content. While we can cry out and post and hope that Rise will get renewed, the likelihood of it happening is very very slim. Which MEANS we NEED to come together as a community and actually UPLIFT the THING. Not our own personal interpretation of the thing. THE THING ITSELF.

We need to buy those books and comics, talk about how much we LOVED seeing them again! How we want to see MORE! How we love the creators and all that they made and all that they COULD MAKE! If we drown out all of the things that are actually being made, because we're just propping our made up fandom shit on a pedestal above the ACTUAL CANON CONTENT, and then acting disappointed when it, predictably, doesn't reflect our fanon expectations then why would any of those creators ever want to be associated with that project ever again? Why would the corporations ever concede to more content if the people who should by vocally supporting and enjoying it are too busy bitching that a few panels don't look 'on model' enough for their tastes? (Looking at all yall who accused the comic artists for the Battle Nexus of using AI cuz a few spots of color were off. Shameful.)

We as a fandom and a community have to do better. Show a little professionalism when interacting directly with the professionals that are still out there FIGHTING TO MAKE NEW STUFF. Appreciate the things they are ACTUALLY MAKING and have made, instead of whining that your 9th Layer of Headcanon Hell take wasn't addressed to your satisfaction.
