8 week hardcore trainer - Day 4 - lower back, hamstrings & abs I was tired and not very motivated for the gym today. I was up at 4am again this morning to go and train my client before starting work at 6. I didn't have time to do my morning cardio though which was a little annoying as it usually helps to wake me up a bit. I trained after work and even with my #prekaged I was still feeling pretty tired and unmotivated to train. It was deadlifts to start and the last few weeks I have been doing well with them so I hoped it would kick me up the ass a bit to get going. I managed a couple sets of 10 reps with 130kg which was tough and tearing my hands up. I tried another set but only got 9 as my grip failed. I was annoyed so I put my wrist straps on and did another 2 sets of 10 to make up for it. The rest of the session went pretty quickly. I had to substitute cable deadlifts with Swiss ball leg curls as they were being used. I then decided to catch up with the cardio I missed in the morning so I did 20 mins on the stepper and then 20 mins incline hill walk. I'm glad I pushed through and just got the sets and cardio done. My #prekaged and #inkaged were definitely needed today! Had a couple of hours at the velodrome in Newport which was great fun! I'm no cyclist but I fancied giving it a go and I'm glad I did.
