Firstly, Congrats on 50+ Followers!!
Secondly, Could I please get a color and)or a song??
Lastly, how's your day been? /Genq
Thank you for the congratulations!!
Have one of my current favorite songs
My day on the day you actually sent this ask was kinda horrible, I was in the emergency room getting admitted into the hospital (I was there for 5 days and am at home now)
My day currently has just started and is good so far!!
❤️
Thanks for the ask!
I don't like how people seem to look at, and treat me differently when I use my cane vs. When I don't use it. I either get stared at, or treated by strangers as if I'm fragile? I don't understand why, nor do I like it.
When I don't use, or need my cane. I'm basically completely invisible and unnoticed. So, I don't see why me using my medical equipment would make people notice me more?
Do...do y'all realize not everyone in the community was either born disabled or became it. Like you can have disabilities you were born with and ones you developed later on at the same time. And some disabilities you do have from birth but don't start presenting until later on. And some disabilities are quite literally from birth, as in the act of being born caused them. Some disabilities aren't from birth, but happened so young they mine as well have been. Some disabilities from birth or a young age could and should have been avoided(FADs, shaken baby syndrome, etc). We don't all fit into your boxes of either being majorly disabled from something at birth or becoming disabled at like 25 like some of you, and I don't want to erase your existence, but I'm tired of you erasing mine.
I feel like a lot of us neurodivergent + multiply disabled people have something we're good at that doesn't quite match up with "expectations".
Mine is: I have med/high support needs and I'm not coordinated enough to walk straight without guidance. BUT I'm an amazing driver and have been since I was 15. Very safe at high speeds and I LOVE driving. Most people don't expect that!
Does anyone else have a "secret skill" that they're proud of?
(I know abled people can exploit our skills in the form of 'inspiration porn', but it's okay to be proud of your skills too!)
