URGENT: Medical Emergency
My friend Hala's (@hala-15) son Abdul Aziz recently had a medical emergency and is in desperate need. offunds
Abdul Aziz, who was born in Gaza, has a condition called Hirschsprung's disease, in which the nerves in the abdomen do not form properly. people with Hirschsprung's disease are unable to pass waste without surgical treatment. In Abdul Aziz's case, he had a colostomy placed when he was only 20 days old.
Yesterday, Abdul Aziz's colostomy site started to bleed. Hala took him to the doctor and they were able to stop the bleeding, and this means that Hala and Abdul Aziz are in need of funds for his medical care.
Hala has been raising funds for months to get surgery for Abdul Aziz in Egypt, where they are currently living. The surgery will cost her 20,000 euro, and will make it so that Abdul Aziz no longer needs a colostomy. So far, she has raised almost 2,000 dollars. However, part of that just had to go to yesterday's emergency.
Hala's gofundme was deleted in a mass deletion of palestinian gofundmes, so she is currently raising money on paypal. Her camapign has been verified by @90-ghost and shared by @fairuzfan

which gift would you get for a seven - month - old baby?
a toy car with wheels that turn
a stuffed teddy bear
a stuffed animal that is not a bear (fox, giraffe, squid, etc)
something to chew on for teething
a cute outfit
lifesaving surgery
My friend Hala @hala-15 has a seven month old son named Abdul Aziz who needs a gift from all of us! Hala and Abdul Aziz are originally from Gaza, but recently escaped to Egypt. But their struggle is not over: Abdul Aziz has a condition called hirschsprung's disease, in which the nerves in the colon do not form properly, leading to life-threatening intestinal blockages!
Abdul Aziz has already had multiple surgeries despite his young age, but in order to live a healthy life, he needs two more. The first will remove the affected part of his colon, and allow him to pass waste. The second will be to close his colostomy. in Egypt, these surgeries cost 20,000 dollars. Tragically, Hala's gofundme was taken down and all the money was returned to donors, due to gofundme mass deleting Palestinian fundraisers, so much of the money she raised has been lost.

which child deserves medical care?
matt, from the united states
abdul aziz, from gaza
both children deserve medical care!
Today I would like to talk about the sons of two of my friends. one is named Matt, and he is the son of a former college classmate of mine. the other is named Abdul Aziz, and his mother is my friend Hala @hala-15. Matt lives in the united states, and Abdul Aziz is from Gaza, but has recently been displaced to Egypt.
Both boys have a condition called hirschsprung's disease. hirschsprung's disease is something that children are born with and is usually diagnosed when they are still an infant. in hirschsprung's disease, the nerves in the colon do not form properly, leading to a portion of the colon being paralyzed. this means that children with hirschsprung's disease cannot pass waste without medical treatment, usually in the form of surgeries.
in countries like the united states, it is normal for these surgeries to be covered by insurance. matt had all his surgeries as a baby, and he is now a happy, active nine year old boy, who sings in his school choir, and loves building with legos. he has an illness, but he is still able to live a full life. However, in Egypt, Gazan parents have to pay for these surgeries out of pocket, and they are extremely expensive. Hala is trying to raise money to pay the 20,000 euros she needs to get Abdul Aziz his surgeries, so that he can grow up strong and healthy.
when I asked Hala what Abdul Aziz likes to do, so I could share his story in this post, she told me something heartbreaking. Seven-month-old Abdul Aziz does not have anything that he likes to do, because, as Hala said, his "illness even prevents him from crawling or playing like children his age."
so tell me: which child deserves medical care? if both of them deserve to live happy healthy lives, why is Abdul Aziz too sick to crawl or play like a baby should? ask these questions of your governments, of the world bank, of the IMF, and of Israel, who started this genocidal war. and help Hala raise funds for Abdul Aziz to get his surgeries, so that he too can live a full and happy life.
