Jaune: Ozpin is way too relaxed that he never considered arming out his basement or considered spies for Salem sneaking into his school.
Jaune: Lionheart is a fucking coward who would rather sell out humanity to save his own skin.
Jaune: Ironwood has such a major stick up his ass that the slightest insult gets you blacklisted from everything but his most wanted list.
Jaune: Theodore is a himbo in the worst fucking way possible with more muscle than brains and would rather get into bum fights than actually bring people of Vacuo together.
Jaune: Jacques Schnee is a spineless racist cuck who would rather hide in his castle in the sky than consider his most objectively wrong supporters beyond how much money they're fueling his oppression machine.
Jaune: ...
Ruby: ...You done?
Jaune: One more.
Jaune: Salem is a cantankerous old bitch who plans on killing herself and the rest of Remnant because she killed her husband and their daughters over a hundred years ago and never thought to talk to anyone about it.
Ruby: ...
Jaune: ...Okay, now I'm done.
Ruby: So... Why did you want to say this? Especially to their faces?
Ozpin/Lionheart/Ironwood/Theodore/Jacques/Salem: ...
Jaune: Because it's better to bitch and moan about someone while they're alive to hear it than to piss and moan about them when they're dead.
Headmasters & Acute Stress Responses
Idle thought but ya know how the Schnees all embody a response to abuse?
Willow = Freeze
Winter = Flee
Weiss = Fight
Whitley = Fawn
What if the Headmasters of the academy have a similar thing going on in regards to their dynamic with Salem?
Ozpin = Freeze, while he took some action he was overall very passive and wary of taking action himself to his side detriment.
Leo = Fawn, pretty self explanatory, he fawned on the source of his fear in the hopes of avoiding a terrible fate.
Ironwood = Flee, this one might surprise but the thing is Ironwood only fought when he thought he could win it all the second he felt Salem could take him he tried to book it.
This would make Theodore = Fight, which would fit with what I have heard of him, though there's a few ways that this could go story wise.
Fight = Good, IE like how Weiss's fight response was ultimately more good for her than it was bad.
Fight = Manipulated, IE like the other headmasters his response will be taken advantage of and his penchant for fighting will lead him to either waste resource or pick a fight he can't win.
Fight = Complicated, if the scenario or situation ends up more complicated through one means or another, such as the siblings or some other faction requiring a more nuanced response, fight is unhelpful.
Buncha drawings-turned-emotes I made
You know what, if not in canon then in fanfiction I WILL see Ruby Rose talk to other people about how to handle leadership.
Let Ruby rehash her post-initiation conversation with Coco from After the Fall (and maybe even get part of it animated in a flashback?), and let them both figure out how to avoid putting up a front for the people you lead. Let them talk about how teammates are not just your responsibility but also should rely on.
Let Ruby and Sun talk about not just taking everything on yourself, about opening up to your team and keeping them close rather than push them away during times of fear. Let him find the balance between lightening the mood and making light of other people’s feelings, and let Ruby learn to cut loose and be a little less responsible.
Let Ruby discuss with Robyn how to handle being idolized (not just by their teams, but seemingly by almost all of Remnant and at least most of Mantle, respectively). Let them discuss public personas and PR and social order in balance with the people you’re close with and can rely on, the ways to divvy up a big burden like that and make it more manageable.
Let Ruby discuss with Winter how to handle insubordination and learning to take other people’s opinions into account and…actually given Winter only knows how to lead a military by pulling rank or making threats, she’s probably got much more to learn from Ruby than vice versa. But learning not everything has to be personal and that she doesn’t always need to self-justify could be good for Ruby.
Hell, let’s get Theodore and Rumpole in on this — let Ruby rely on the teacher and headmaster who won’t turn evil unless a literal brainwashing semblance comes into play.
And of course, I think Ruby is overdue for another conversation with Ozpin — perhaps an inversion/official denouncement of her conversation with him in The Badge and the Burden.
Just. I can’t wait to actually see Ruby talking through her issues and burdens.

A thought I just had: Remember how I previously brought up how Jax could work great as an ideological adversary for Ruby she can't defeat via beating up?
Imagine if, instead of getting a big final confrontation with him, she instead interrupted his and Theodore's final confrontation with EACH OTHER in order to tell them both off.
i.e. Theodore lost his temper, accidentally freed Jax from his cell, and is now punching several holes in Shade Academy and injuring several bystanders because killing Jax has become his top and only priority. Jax, meanwhile, has chosen to rearm himself and try to fight Theodore instead of fleeing. Ruby stops them from killing each other and deconstructs both of their worldviews while they're at her mercy.
I mean, kinda?
I certainly agree with Jax being a, if not the big antagonist and ideological foil for Ruby in the Vacuo arc, but I’m not sure if I see any conflict between Jax and Theodore playing this hugely significant role in it? Simply put, I think at the end of the day, Jax is going to be the WAY bigger problem to be dealt with than Theodore.
Like I imagine any issues with Theodore are dealt with beforehand, and the ultimate confrontation between Ruby and Jax is a much more 1v1 affair. Maybe we have a moment where Theodore is about to step in and go after Jax himself, only for Qrow to hold him back with a ‘Wait. She’s got this’ bit.

Volume 10 hope
There is one thing I hope Theodore tells Oscar in V10, and that what has happened to him, being thrust out of his life and into this war without a say at such a young age, wasn't right. Oscar deserves to grow up without the pressure of the world on his shoulders.
It's something all of RWBYALPN needs to hear as well, but coming from the last headmaster would mean so much
