People who ascribe to the view the Jaune would be a better reincarnation than Oscar clearly fail to understand the characters of Ozpin, Oscar and Jaune.

Jaune by the time Ozpin reincarnates is a jaded person with a jaded worldview. That is not who Ozpin is at his core, he believes in reuniting the world, in hope and humanity.

Oscar is the same, small and idealistic, he believes in humanity more than he believes in anything else. He is who Ozpin wishes he could be and who he will end up becoming anyway through the merge.

Jaune believes in humanity yes, but he doesn’t ascribe to the same viewpoints of Oscar and Ozpin who believe in unity. When Jaune found out the truth, he set the example of division that Salem wants so desperately even if it was only temporary. When Oscar’s found out the truth, he was hurt yes but he stuck with his view of unity, convincing others of the same even when it led to Jaune, Yang and Qrow unfairly lashing out at him.

Ozpin is the same, despite being alive for a millennium he still sticks to his viewpoint of unity and has never once faltered in that view even though there were times he withdrew or became depressed, his still believed in the core objective of unity and humanity.

Jaune I think as a character becomes rightfully enraged when short term solutions aren’t enacted and go to plan. Oscar and Ozpin are both patient in the ideologies and look for the long term solution of unity.

Jaune and Ozpin are not similar whatsoever, they both want the same thing, a lot of characters want the same thing as Ozpin but they and everyone else have clashing characteristics.

Ozpin and Oscar are similar, even through the tension in their relationship they have a harmonious mindset and dynamic. They are like minded souls.

Being a huntess, and a powerful one at that, didn't leave Glynda much room for a love life. And even when she did get a chance, the only ones that seemed interested were mainly for her power.

Being the youngest of 8 children meant that Jaune was well versed in some areas when it came to women, but very naive when it came to others. Didn't help that his self-esteem was low due to how people tended to use him to get to his sisters.

Thanks to all this, Jaune has what Glynda wants; someone who wants her for her not her power. Jaune loves Glynda for her, not her position of semblance

And Glynda has what Jaune needs. Someone who loves him and him alone. Someone who isn't using him to get to someone else.

Others do try to talk them out of dating, power dynamics and such

"You're dating Goodwitch?!"

Jaune lets out a heavy exhale, hearing the tone of disapproval and shock from his friends. The aspiring swordsman was busy putting on a black tux, trying to tie a bowtie. Being the only son of eight children, Jaune was well-versed in some areas when it came to women. But the young man was naive when it came to others, and his low self-esteem exacerbated matters. Plus, in the past, before coming to Beacon, claimed to be his friend to get close to one of his sisters. As he failed at tying the bowtie, Ren approached his friend, assisting him.

"Jaune," Ren spoke, "is there a way to talk some sense into you?"

"I'm not crazy, Ren," Jaune replies to his friend. "I love her, and I think she loves me."

"That's the problem," Weiss said, "you THINK she loves you. You and thinking haven't been well." She folds her arms over her bust, "Remember when your attempts at courting me?"

"Remember your 'friendship' with Cardin?" Ruby spoke up, her tone filled with concern.

"Guys," Jaune turns to his team and Team RWBY, "I'm 18! I'm practically a grown man! This is my decision, and Glynda's not like that!"

Glynda Goodwitch was occupied with observing herself in the mirror, wearing a strapless purple dress. The busty Huntress was powerful, rivaling the infamous Raven Branwen and the late Summer Rose. But it didn't leave her much room for a love life, and when she did meet someone who seemed interested, it was always for her power. She groaned as she heard the voice of Ozpin, turning to face the silver-haired man in dark green.

"Really, Ozpin?" Glynda said with an annoyed glance, "Especially coming from someone who made many mistakes?"

"I am saying," the Headmaster of Beacon said, "that you're his teacher, and this courtship isn't exactly looked upon fondly."

Pyrrha: ...

~Ten Minutes later~

Pyrrha: Magic me bigger.

Ozpin: ... And Hello to you as well Miss Nikos. Now what is it you need?

Pyrrha: Magic me bigger.

Ozpin: ... First of all, How do you know I can do magic, Secondly, Why?

Pyrrha: It's the worst kept secret at Beacon second only to my Crush on Jaune, and Because I have a Crush on Jaune.

Ozpin: ... No.

Pyrrha: Come On! Scale plus .25! A 33% increase! Please!

Ozpin: No. I won't waste may limited capabilities on something so frivolous-

Pyrrha: Either you make me larger and get fresh 70% Mistralian Dark Cocoa Powder for Hot Chocolate, or I personally ensure Oobleck gets High-Strength, A1, freshly roasted Mistrali Blend Coffee Beans.
