On the way to the ruins
Ruby: *walking behind Jaune* So... Hm...
Jaune: *sigh* I'm not going to bite you, you know? What is it?
Ruby: *chuckles nervously* W-well, it's just that... you're the second person i met in my entire life who made a remark on the colours of my eyes.
Jaune: *appalled* Only the second? *Facepalms* Has nobody on this bloody side of the world ever opened a god damn history book?
Weiss: *a bit further behind* You say that as if eye colors had anything to do with historyβ
Jaune: *rolls his eyes* Because it does? Have none of you ever heard of the silver-eyed warriors?
Ruby: *lifts an eyebrow* Silver what now?
Jaune: *stops walking* ... Give me a sec. *Turns around, walks up to Juniper*
Pyrrha: *who was allowed by Juniper to ride her* What are you doing?
Jaune: *shoves his face in her fur to muffle his frustration* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!
PRW: ...
Jaune: *pulls his face away* Sorry, had to let it all out before crashing out.
Juniper: *not bothered in the slightest*π
Ruby: *wincing* Was what i said really that bad?
Jaune: *turns to her* You ARE one! How can you not know about your ownβ *sigh, realization dawning on him* Right, your mother. She was the one with silver eyes i assume.
Ruby: Yeah...
Weiss: *Thinking* I did read some stories... *Sigh* but they can't be true. *Shakes her head dismissively* I mean, you can't turn an army of grimm to dust with a single glare; that would be ridiculous.
Jaune: *deadpan* So using a semblance that makes glyphs that basically act like magic, which also happens to be hereditary from what you told me, is completely fine... but having anti-grimm eyes is too far fetched?
Weiss: ... Okay, presented like that, i can see your point. *Frown* But an army? Really?
Jaune: *sigh* Ok, i admit, that probably IS an exaggeration. But a deathstalker like the one we fought? Or even a Goliath? *Makes an explosive gesture with his good hand* Poof! Turned to dust in a matter of seconds by the silvery glows of their eyes!
Ruby: *excitedly jumping in place* And i can do that!? For real?! How!?! *Grabs him by the shoulders while making sure to not touch his wounded arm* TEACH ME!
Jaune: *Sigh* I just know that you CAN use those powers, not HOW to use them. *Scratches his head* It's not like people like you are a common thing where i'm from either; i only met one in my entire life... beside you i mean. *Chuckles* I mean, it did take me a while before remembering what those meant; i would have told you sooner otherwise, like when we first talked.
Ruby: Aw, for real? *Sigh, letting go of him* What a let down.
Jaune: *wince* Sorry about that... *Frown* By the way, Ruby, you said someone else took notice of your eyes?
Ruby: *nods* The headmaster, why?
Jaune: *frown* Well i was hoping we could ask them for help... But now i'm more worried that he made you skip grades because of your eyes, which would be very irresponsible...
Pyrrha: *patting Juniper's head* Especially since I never skipped a year...
Ruby: ... *Looks at her hands with horror* I'm a nepo-baby...?
Weiss: *rolls her eyes* Nonsense! I'm sure the headmaster had a perfectly valid reason to make you skip a few years!

Glynda: *stares at Ozpin with great intensity*
Ozpin: *take a sip of cocoa, his hands trembling slightly with nervousness* ... It wasn't the ONLY reason, ok!? Her grades were impeccables! AND she needs as much training as she can get!
Glynda: *squints her eyes* You better not dilly daddle when it will come out to train her, or else...
