“In this post I am going to discuss the various reasons that cause crystals to work and how that happens, from the most mundane answers, to the spiritual, to the energetic.
1) Psychology: Starting with the mundane to get it out of the way.
Beliefs are self-affirming. If you BELIEVE that the crystal will work and you program it to allow something to happen, you are tapping into your subconscious, allowing it to take notice of the energy you wish to attract or rebound and are opening yourself up to notice opportunities that you may previously have not been subconsciously open to. That said, despite below, if you believe they will not work (especially subconsciously) then the crystal's effectiveness will be impacted, this is because your energy will not allow the new frequency through).
Crystals have long history within the earth, exposed to various natural energy and are composed of a crystalline structure, found within sacred geometry concepts. They have been absorbing and storing energy from its surroundings for centuries before being unearthed and have formed over years from that energy and the elemental interactions. These energies stored within can effect the human energy field (chakras or electromagnetic field).
3. Continuing from the above, the energy perspective.
All things have a vibrational frequency, and vibrate at different frequencies. Vibration is what brings about experiences in our lives, attracts us to people or places that have similar frequencies, or causes us to clash with surrounding frequencies (much like opposites of a magnet, pushing against each other). The interactions of frequencies create our day to day experiences. Different crystals vibrate at different frequencies, and when held near/within the human electromagnetic field, can cause an area of the field to resonate to, or match, the frequency of the crystal. This is why they are said to have healing properties. Side note: Scientists have discovered how to target cancerous tumors using only specific frequencies and kill that cancerous tumor while leaving the healthy tissue, because is vibrates at a different frequency.
Our body and each internal system has it's own frequency. Our electromagnetic field is similar to a symphony playing instead of a single instrument playing a single note. This is why a crystal may only effect one or two areas instead of the whole. But the whole system works together. So if your trombone player is playing the wrong key, and wreaking havoc on the over all symphony, that crystal can affect the frequency that it is operating at, making that trombone player find the right key, so that it is once again playing with the rest, in a beautiful harmony.
So, now lets talk about Moldavite. This crystal has been hyped up a lot lately for it's transformational effects. Why? Well, this crystal operates at a very high frequency, forcing your electromagnetic field to shift (think entrainment, or a tuning fork resonating on one frequency, and another being placed near it that isn't playing a note, as it becomes exposed to the note of the other tuning fork, it'll begin to play the note too, that is what is happening within your body). So the tumultuous change in life occurs because your natural 3D vibrational rate was shifted a great deal very rapidly. This causes things that no longer resonate at your frequency to start repelling themselves, like the magnets mentioned above. Your situation, experience, home, job, relationships, etc. all match your current vibration rate. If that changes suddenly, then suddenly anything that doesn't match the new rate will be pushed away.
Typically when you increase your vibration rate, it happens gradually, and situations, relationships, people, jobs, experiences shift gradually to match it. I talk to my clients a lot about the difference between attraction based on misaligned choices and deselection, which occurs when they no longer match the vibration of what was in their life, which can manifest as drama or crisis, and all you need to do is let it fall away.
