A Piece of a Letter to My 19-Year-Old Self
I was feeling reflective today, so I wrote a letter to myself. Not going to share all of it, as it got kinda intense, but I’ll share the best part!!
~~ Most importantly, you’ll learn to truly love yourself and be confident with who you are. Despite feeling like you're in another world from some people at times, you’ll learn that your differences actually make you an enigmatic force to be reckoned with.
My cousin’s husband’s sister, (yes I know there is a little chain there lol) told me after we had been drinking on the night of my cousin’s wedding about how she loves who I am, and was like “You are an original!” I don’t even know if she remembers this, but I laughed and said “You’re not wrong there!” And I think she was a little worried as if she had mistakenly offended me, but to be honest, I think that’s been my favorite thing said to me this year.
Because, I am an original !!!
I’m here, I’m queer, I’m bipolar, I believe in God, I’m Christian, I’m Spiritual, and I’m passionate about music / singing, animated shows/films, video games, and I’m a pretty good poet too!!
Yet, I don’t let labels define me, because there are a lot of things that make me who I am.
That being said, I’m still figuring a lot out (aren't we all?), but despite everything, I’m pretty cool and all of you who are reading are too :)
As Eda the Owl Lady once said,, Ok, ByEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Outro: *Cooler Than Me by Mike Posner starts playing* — ((ik spiritual peoples that this is a major ego song but I promise I am actually quite down to earth these days, and I think we are all cooler than what our older selves thought of us, and that’s how i’m justifying this song!! ~~
