The weather was like ‘you don’t want to go for this run, do you?’ And I was like ‘of course I fucking don’t, I hate running.’
And then the weather, that sneaky bastard, was all ‘look at my heavy rain. All day. Use me as an excuse’ 😇’ and I, lazy git that I am, was sore tempted by its offer.
But NO.
That’s right. I did it. And got bloody soaked. And then I took a selfie to remind myself how much of a drowned rat I was and it didn’t even look that bad. Which was disappointing.
Nevermind.
Got home and husband-my beloved husband- made me a cup of tea and suggested I have a nice warm bath.
So there’s the positives, right there. Hate running (detest it). Did it anyway. Got rewarded. V good. Keep going.
C25k w1d3 went decent. After my last running section thing I continued for like 30~ seconds longer just to see how long i could go!
Next week (prob tmr tbh) shouldn’t be too bad since it’s just 1:30 running instead of 1, which I literally did today
Did c25k W1D2!
AND I ran up a really steep hill (slowly, but that’s not the point)
Ok, I think I need some shorts to… ‘run’ in. In the summer weather, at least. Because I’m roasting. My legs are so hot. I am so hot.
I cannot bring to mind the last time I wore a pair of shorts. 2010? I don’t do shorts.
Also, why are there hills everywhere? Cornwall is so beautiful but it’s so flipping hilly. Not that it’s not hilly in the Peak District (clue’s in the name) but I know where to go, there. Disused railway lines. Canals. Round and round the pond at Sainsbury’s. There are undoubtedly those things here but I don’t know where. So must just go down the lanes around the cottage. Which are tiny. And hilly. And also there was a scary dog that came bounding out a farm yard barking at me. But fortunately didn’t chase me.
This is me, ‘running’ (it’s the couch to 5k programme, so running stretches the truth rather far but I’m on week 3 and that does include 2x 3 minutes of running light jogging at least) on holiday. For the second time. Who dis? Seriously. So this programme should finish in time for my birthday which, whilst not intentional, is satisfyingly symbolic nonetheless.
